Can anyone tell me if the Prisma Megamix can be a Paula replacement i.e AHI driver...... play games/ demos without using Paula?

Can anyone recommend a USB audio sound card that works with AHI/ Amiga OS3.14 and/or OS3.9 ???

basically I'm geting a constant screeching sound all of a sudden out of Paula....my A4000 motherboard looks like new, caps were replaced last year, nothing causing short although maybe I turned on my Amp while Amiga was running and this blew something but only did that once and all was fine after

@klx300r

Just wait for the vampire for A4000 and you can easily replace the paula and have the sound comming out from the HDMI connector.

Or sell the computer and get a vampire standalone, when it's available.

There is no way to replace the paula with a simple AHI soundcard, only vampiremagic can do that.

Get your motherboard troubleshooted and repaired if possible. Simples!

@evilFrog

A hip replacement and a life time prescription of cod liver oil tablets would also do the trick!

The Prisma isn't a typical sound card but rather a device that decodes and plays various audio files. It may be possible to write and AHI driver for it but one hasn't been forth coming so far.

An AHI compatible sound card can't replace Paula for everything and would only be suitable for use with software that has an AHI interface built.

Like others here I'd recommend trying to find where the problems is in your Paula circuitry and getting that fixed.

Vampire is great but, for me, no replacement for my real Amiga

@ all

yup I was hoping I could do without her but I guess I have to buy Ms. Paula flowers and yet again spend alot of money to keep her happy...only AMIGA and why the man cave is always a mess
