@amigang

Should we go ahead and add a matching keyboard and mouse?

You can make as much 3D models like you want, but when you ask for the production of mechanical components, you have to pay a lot of money for a production start.

Yes April fools sorry guys, but still I think a little unit like this might do well if market correctly and was cheap.

Nice 3D model.

CDs for such a retro device are a bit outdated. The CD drives requires a huge case, making the production very expensive.

But klapdeur has a nice and cheap Amiga inspired case for the RasPI

AmigaTwo LOL that name should not be copyrighted for a court battle lol

Maybe forums remembers

AmigaTwo was reserved for the AOS4 driven and (brand) licensed systems with two CPUs.

here the model
https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/b987b971-3b4e-4e9f-8082-248d5fc116ce/AmigaCd64

well unless we could get a deal with Cloanto (which is unlikly) it could'nt be called Amiga, so my alt names would be

CD32 mini
CD64
CD32.2
CD32+
piCD32
RetroCd32
IndieGo Cd32 Edition
AmiCD32 / AmiCD64
DVD32 / DVD64

As for blu ray I see little point if you want a blu ray player this would not be the device to get, even DVD are not nessary if the goal is just to emulate a CD32 with maybe more ram, but I dont know if you could still even buy a drive with just Cd support. if fact it be hard to find slot loading DVD drive, as the ones I found on ebay cheap dont come with eject button and I dont know if pi would support that properly as they been made for macs. I mean a top loader and make it like the purpose CD1200 would be cool but that would I guess be even harder to source and make as I cant find top loader drives available anywhere any more.

How about a slide loader like the PS3 Super Slim?

@BigD

Toploader could be possible by hacking a slimline laptopstyle drive. Remove the outer (top) shell, get rid of the eject mechanism. Implement a swicht to stop drive-motor and come up with a cover. Good enough for DIY, not so for commercial.

I think that a case and a drive would be a good combination.

It wold be cool to have a 3 inch DVD or Blu-ray disc drive.

Also, how accurate is the A1000 Sketchup file?

This would be a disaster, because a standard DVDs have a diameter of 4.72 inch (12cm).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiniDVD 3" DVD is a thing.
Due it's rarity and price it would be perfect for any Amiga project.

There is a MiniDVD with 8 cm this would be 3,15 inch.

You can't use CD32 as that mark was also part of the transfer of marks to Cloanto (you may like to refer to the recent court documents number6 has posted in other threads).

And therefore much more serious than some threads about Power5, Amiga Multiprocessing, improvements on the 68k ISA or the bright future of the PPC architecture.

@Trekiej

Well you could buy a Indiego Xs for 200euros

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/681890174/indiego-classic-retro-console-and-xs-the-new-slim

then just make a custom case for it around 150euros

Project achived.

I dont quite have the time to make it but I will galdly make this an open source project, so if anyone want to take this up go nuts.
