Hi All

Recently got myself an AmigoOne X5000 and its a fantastic machine. I have a strange thing happening, when I boot up my startup screen says Amiga OS 4.1 pre-releae? I have registered my copy of OS 4..1 with Hyperion and done all the updates so why does it say pre-release? Can I change this or am I stuck with it?

@sicky

If you are talking about the Amiga Splash Screen then i don't know if you can change it... If you are talking about the bootloader screen where you see the available operating system, yes you can change it editing the kicklayout file

@nubechecorre

I believe it's the Amiga splash screen, it shows just before Amiga OS4.1 boots. How do you access the Kickloyout file, it's not available from the Workbench screen?

@nubechecorre

I have opened the kicklayout file in MultiEdit but nothing shows the screen I'm looking for!

@sicky

OS4.1 for X5000 is so far a prerelease. A very stable kind of prerelease but none the less a prerelease. So the splashscreen you are seeing is normal. I am a betatester and have the same.

The information in the kicklayout file is for the bootmenu that comes up after you have told uboot to boot AmigaOS (the menu with AmigaOS, MorphOS, Linux etc.).

Good luck with the machine

@JohnFante

Thank you, at least I know that's normal until it gets an update I assume?

@sicky

Same here on my X5000. We will have to wait a little bit longer until the Final version will be ready.

Hope Amiga OS 4.1 is not dead and it gets updated one day, at least from pre-release state for X5000 machines...
