| Floppy drive on my Amiga 2000 starts to to spin then it quits right away. I just installed Kickstart 3.1.4 and trying to load the new workbench. Any suggestions?
Thanks Orion

I bet it is not your floppy drive that caused the defect, it is something on your system that is incompatible with your Kickstart.
It might be something in the system boot sequence, accelerator, Zorro card (HD, GFX, ..)

Does this means "I have only changed the Kickstart ROMs and nothing else"
If Yes: Try if your floppy drive had worked with the version you had before. If everything is right with the older version you might have got a Kickstart for another Amiga type.
if Now: What else has changed and what else is in your A2000 that is not compatible with the non C= Kickstart? (ZorroII hardware, accelerators, HD controllers, ...?)
Always consider to go back to the Kickstart that run best with your Amiga, there are to few improvements in Kickstart 3.1.4 some are even calling it a drawback.Last edited by OneTimer1 on 07-Jun-2019 at 02:20 PM. Last edited by OneTimer1 on 07-Jun-2019 at 01:20 PM.

This is a 2000 I just received, I have stripped it all down and cleaned it up. The battery had just started to leak, I removed it and cleaned up the area with vinegar. It was running with Kickstart 3.1 and was full of addons. Like a A2320, picasso 2, A2058 and a 68030 accelerator. Had two hard drives and one floppy. It seemed to boot up and work fine. I did not try the floppy before I stripped it down and cleaned it. So now it only has one floppy, a kickstart 3.1.4 all that comes on the screen now is it wants the 3.1.4 workbench. I have tried three different floppy drives and also the external one I use on my 500. I will try putting back in the old 3.1 kickstart and try again. I will let you know.

Problem solved. It was an ID10T error. Thanks for your help.
