| I successfully upgraded my MicroA1 with a 1 GB of system memory. I heard that this was a problem, but it went without any issues.,
I got it off of Ebay for $12 including shipping.
I tried updating Intuitionbase with the hardware details, but that seems to not really be available for updates anymore. _________________ µA1-C/750FX@800Mhz/OS4.1 FE up#1 A4000/CSPPC 060-233/146Mb/CVPPC /OS3.9 A3000/CSPPC 060/233/64MB/Prometheus w/ Voodoo3/ OS3.9 A3000/PIV, A3000T/PIV |

The maintainer logs into AW fairly regularly.
Hopefully he'll respond.

What is the spec you bought? So I can have a look. Had problems with a 512MB RAM one, stability problems In OS 4.1, but worked fine in OS 4.0, the early releases. |

So is the computer running stable with the 1GB RAM. Do you have 1GB RAM in Workbench?

That's good to know! Thanks for the link!
Did you run memtester under OS4 to see, if the RAM makes any problems in the microA1?

The only problem is Linux barfs with more than 768 megs of total memory so if you run linux you have to use the limit memory arg in uboot. |
This one? True, this was the maximum usable memory in Linux on the A1 for the 2.4.x and early 2.6.x kernels. However kernel 2.6.18 (and probably some earlier versions too) already supported HIGHMEM, which allows more than 768MB RAM.Last edited by Geri on 26-Jun-2019 at 08:08 PM.

Yes, so far so good. Once the Workbench loads I got about 850 MB free. _________________ µA1-C/750FX@800Mhz/OS4.1 FE up#1 A4000/CSPPC 060-233/146Mb/CVPPC /OS3.9 A3000/CSPPC 060/233/64MB/Prometheus w/ Voodoo3/ OS3.9 A3000/PIV, A3000T/PIV |

My Linux installation died many years ago d I have never tried to get it working again as I really care about the Amiga booting much more than I ever did about Linux.
What memory tester should I use? _________________ µA1-C/750FX@800Mhz/OS4.1 FE up#1 A4000/CSPPC 060-233/146Mb/CVPPC /OS3.9 A3000/CSPPC 060/233/64MB/Prometheus w/ Voodoo3/ OS3.9 A3000/PIV, A3000T/PIV |

Caution! I purchased this memory and it won't even physically fit in a uA1. As you can see in the picture on Ebay it is much wider than the original uA1 memory. It's so wide that it overlaps the CPU card and will not lock into the memory socket clip. Even if it did, the memory module is laying (meaning touching) the CPU card. It does not fit!
Maybe if you have some kind of right angle adapter it might have a chance at working but there was no mention of having to modify the mounting to get it to work in the original post.
Not a big deal as it was only $12 but don't expect it to even fit in a uA1 without some kind of modification.

| I did not even notice that it touched the cpu card. So, I can not really say that it does. Yes, it is a bit taller than other ram sticks, but it fit without issue.
I suggest you try again.
