I have an Amiga 1000 and would like to add a video slot to it.
Looking at the Commodore Genlock, I noticed that it was an internal card put into a box and connected to the video out.

I drew a diagram of how I would like to make a board that would go into a mini-itx case.

It would have two 25 pin D-sub connectors on the back with a 24 pin power connector at the front.

On the bottom would be two 36 pin video connector slots like in the A2000.

The A2000 video slot has RGB and Centronics Parallel port going to it.

I think some A2000's had only one socket.

If you could find a Rejuvenator, it had a video slot on it already. I had a C= flicker fixer mounted in my 1000 using that slot.

If you are talking about the video slot on the opposite side of the PSU from the rest of the expansion slots (Zorro II and ISA slots), then I don't remember any A2000's that had more than one video slot. I think there may have been some A4000T's that had 2 video slots, or conversion boards to make A1200's into tower computers with expansion slots, which might have had 2 video slots, but not original A2000's with 2 video slots. Some one correct me if I'm remembering wrong.

Yep, I would say the A4000T is the only Amiga with two video slots.

If I read the A2000/A500 schematics correctly, it shows two 36 pin connectors.
Hmm.
I guess it should not be a problem to go ahead and add it early.

Yes, it has two slots but I have only used one for the Picasso IV graphics card. I guess the machine is useful if you have a RTG Graphics card plus a Video Toaster 4000 card? Would be nice to have both installed. Sadly no PAL Video Toaster so no incentive for me to try it.

I am ignorant of the exact technical info but the video slot for the PIV is passing the AGA video to the flicker fixer module to allow pass through of the AGA screen modes for use via the VGA port. I'm assuming the Video Toaster 4000 allows AGA output to be mixed with the other Video Toaster inputs (a limitation of the original version) and therefore the A4000T is really just providing a duplicate output to both cards (no special jumpers / auto config required)?

I am still working on making a board for an ATX case or similar for housing something like a Video Toaster or Opal Vision.

I will have to look at how all this works.

The Grafitti box is a cool item to have.

That woud be very useful. I wonder if any dual gfx card configurations worked?

Amiga with twin RTG cards. Would have been awesome.
