Well i think the apollo os is agreat os with all the programs and games you ever want included
they are releasing R0.55 shortly i heard.
I think the vamp team boys are going down the wrong road with supporting AROS instead of the Classic Original OS thats what the amiga is all about, workbench classic not a linux based kernel based os that emulates the 68000 set of chips. |

It's the users that decides what they want to install on the vampyre so it does not matter even if it's annoying that it will be shipped with the wrong kickstart.

A pirated OS is a better option than a still maintained, legal one?
Also, AROS doesn't use a Linux based kernel, nor does it "emulate the 68000 set of chips". It uses the AROS kernel and uses hardware natively on 680x0 hardware. |

the reason is the legal mess around anything amigaos related
if there would be a legal way to include it and if vampire would be supported they would not even look at aros.
of course people will have a way to use 3.1 kickstart or whatever on the standalone
coffin is pure poison and highly illegal in every respect, I hope noone will ever say who is behind because if this person or persons are related to the people behind vampire they would give ammunition to people outside to harm the project |

I never used it but I assume it is
but the coffin people go the easy way by not asking for permission and instead include anything they get |

great if you already know who will win the legal battles then please contact gunnar and enlighten him. From all I know of you you are a genious person with superior knowledge compared to normal people like me so contact the apollo team and give some of your findings to them. They will be grateful forever... |

Pffff.. and what does the outcome of the court case have to do with legality of buying plain old OS 3.1, 3.5 and 3.9 as end user??
Gunnar's problem is that he has no-one to license a kickstart from, but that is a problem he has created all on his own - he could just have done what all other FPGA systems have, a firmware with a menu system from which user can update cores etc, choose kickstarts, amount of RAM, virtual floppies etc. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Have you noticed _anyone_ stopped selling kickstarts and floppies? Hyperion? Cloanto? Vesalia? Whoever? _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |
