No idea if Amiga fans are aware of this, but I just stumbled across it and thought someone may find it interesting.

https://www.bountysource.com/issues/80706251-m68k-convert-the-backend-to-mode_cc-so-it-can-be-kept-in-future-releases?fbclid=IwAR1sQN66HypVebfkDkWIicyJ1sGuVlo3l0WwHJKBKY1vf28QiRrrbtkT2C8

I've also just learned on a new 680x0 based machine in development from someone with a track record of producing good quality hardware.
I won't elaborate yet though until I hear back from him so as to stop enthusiastic people bothering him, just incase he has no interest in doing anything Amiga related (68k AROS obviously) with it.

I'll update the thread when I learn more.

That is certainly something I am interested in, I hope his target operating system is a ... common one :)

The 680x0 based machine is not the problem for us, but getting a cheap 68060 with 800MHz for an AGA-Minimig, that's a problem.

This is something I’m *very* interested in.

@OneTimer1

'Cos newly released, well priced options from people with better reputations than *anyone* in the "Amiga-verse" is of no appeal to anyone?

That's ribbon for competing material right there.

@fishy_fis

> newly released

The release date of a CPU is not really interesting.

> well priced options

Yes, but only for a decent price / performance ratio

> from people with better reputations than *anyone* in the "Amiga-verse"

Some people in the "Amiga-verse" doesn't have a good reputation, but I don't judge an available product after its designer.

My points are:
availability, price / performance ratio, compatibility

Back to the topic of the bounty

I didn't knew about the lack of 68k support for GCC, I think all Amigan who have an interest on an modern compiler for 68k should spend some money for this bounty. The software situation is bad, but without proper GCC support it would be even worse.

@OneTimer1

You would think that especially those who have commercial interests in this would be supportive.

@thread

The author of this bounty started a thread on Amiga.org. You might as well read it so I don't have to post twice.
