@RobertB: Thank you very much!
Is there a chance to see Trevors speak on youtube? On the saved livestream his speech isn't available.

I'm having trouble processing Trevor's presentation. I tried twice yesterday and no joy. :(

I'll keep on trying,

@thread

Update on available recordings of the presentations:

If you compare what has been made available in this thread, you can compare with the show schedule listings for each day as to what is still to come:
http://amiwest.net/schedule2019/

Wednesday: Robert has links in this thread for 4 parts of Wednesday's Devcon.

Thursday: Robert has a link for part 1 of Thursday's Devcon, so more of that will come.

Friday: Robert has links for the 2 presentations that followed the friday testing stream for the a/v. The balance of that stream is just testing, so Friday is complete.

Saturday: Keep in mind we're dealing with multiple recordings. There was a stream and Robert filmed the presentations as well in H/D.
Nothing has been lost. The team at AmiWest merely ran into a couple of issues.

Bill describes the issue with the Saturday stream

This is 18 hours btw, when I checked it prior to its removal. Mind you, this does not mean 18 hours of presentations, since the stream ran from early morning until early morning the next day EDT. Again, compare with the AmiWest schedule link above and you'll know what is yet to be uploaded.
Robert, again, also filmed the presentations that day and from his last post (above) clearly shows that none of his h/d has been made available.
In addition to the other presentations you have to look forward to once uploaded, Saturday mentions "special guest". So you also have the interview and q/a with Michael Battilana to look forward to once Saturday uploads are completed.

UPDATE: Saturday: Trevor's presentation (the stream version) is now available:
https://youtu.be/Zv-F9i9zAxw

Sunday: Although all of Sunday will likely also be uploaded in h/d from Robert, the stream -is- available.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J6d2pXaQvY
The q/a with Steven Solie and Trevor Dickinson begins at roughly 50:00.
Alex Perez follows, as does Tony Wyatt as illustrated on the show schedule.

After that the stream needed to shut down so people could return to their homes to deal with the threat of the California wild fires and power outages.
Everyone is ok, but indeed tekmage (Bill) was running on a generator last night.
So please have some patience. Nothing has been lost.

At 1:38.50 they start about the Power 9 systems

Trevor said the motherboard is a few 1000$. Thinking he was talking about the Raptor Talos, but seeing the pricing on https://secure.raptorcs.com/content/BK1B01/purchase.html for the basic Blackbird system, 2000$+ is not really an Amiga-option imho.

I am still interested in Trevors presentation (Saturday) and if there are any updates since Amiga 34 in Germany (in short: Tabor as "Early-Adopter-Edition", checkout for pre-order!).

@AP

Brief adequate-summari from whole amiwest:

1). Trevor says there will be x5000+ in stock, which just the same x5000 only that come with PolarisRX (but all should know, that is _slower_ than RadeonHD currently, because there is no way giving to usesr to control power managment (tool, or anything at all), and in most cases RadeonRX driver just didn't raise resources up. But it can be any other bugs of course as wel). With that x5000+ will come some prebuild wifi card (with drivers and co) and some other stuff.

There is also no relesae date of Tabor or anything of that sort. Trevor speech was mostly about how things going for now, and how it all happens in last year(s). Things about libreoffice (never ended projects which still have issues), about Enhancer (someone was called "black hole" in terms of communication, i know who:) ) and co. Nothing _that_ intersting.

2). Trevor own os4 kernel now, so ppls start to works on it , there some team , work only started. But Jamie Kruger (that one who do AVD suite) already wrote some "DMA engine", whch need to be incorporated to kernel, so it will speed things up on the kernel' level. Its not GART/DMA for graphics card, its another DMA/GART for CPU. So some speed up anyway will be everywhere. Also there was done some optimisation to Tabor so it boots faster.

3). Mritter shown he's text editor "Struct", which is really nice from video. Lots of featuers, all kind of stuff.

4). TonyW explain how he made graphics driver for inbuild limited gfx chip coming with Tabor (its of no use for 3D of course, but will be ok for 2D for sure). That driver from scratch use DMA, so all terst in beta-list (i already see it and driver done), show pretty big speed up in all cases in terms of 2D everywhere in compare with all other drivers where we have no DMA use (i.e. no GART).

5). Hans de Ruiter should soon start on bugfixing warp3dnova , things was commited for 2 months of works on it. Dunno through when those 2 monhts starts. And dunno if it include fixing also RadeonHD driver which have issues on x5000 (020 and 040) and Tabor when pass 256mb GPU barier (cause freeze). RadeonRX didn't have that issue on the same configs, so it probabaly should be easy to fix, if, anyone will understand the importance of problem (hello Mattew and Hans).

That probabaly all news for real. Other ones its just talks about nothing (like, discussing for 20 minutes some LOGO , or how they organize things, i.e. nothing worth of discussing that much).

Trevor said that Tabor Early Adopter boards will be available "soon" for about $450 USD. Hyperion is working on a new ISO, and there is ongoing work on the sound driver.

What will be the difference between early adopter Tabor boards and normal? Just cheaper?

Was there any word about X5000/40? Will it be relesed in near future, or has A-Eon abandoned the project...?

Only mention I recall is here at about 1:03:20

Quote:
my focus is more short term, right? get the A1222 out the door. get the X5000 plus out the door. see what the market does...

At which point Trevor interjects:
Quote:
5040

So I'd say not cancelled but also no specifics on date.

He didn't say. Maybe the sound driver does not yet work? In the absence of any concrete information, all we can do is speculate. I'm hanging onto my cash until the Cautious Adopter version is released.

@bison

As shown on a slide in Germany at Amiga34 its called Mark II Tabor board..
So it could be a newer revision with some minor hardware changes....

@Skateman

Yes, some of the minor components are no longer available (I don't know which ones) and had to be replaced with alternatives. Other than that I don't think there are any design changes. Or he didn't say, anyway.
