@10MARC

Hi Doug,

Enjoyed your latest vid, as usual.

I've been using DOM's for a few years now on OS 4.1 on my A1-XE. A little correction, you can find them up to (and possibly higher) 128Gb.

You can also buy them as right angled modules, which might be even nicer to fit under the keyboard of our wedge-style computers.

Keep it up Doug, love your 10 minute vids.

Fred

@OldAmigan

I have only really seen them available as 4GB, 8 GB and 16GB, with a few mentions of 32GB (but no availability) - Where do you get yours? I would love to check out some of those 64 and 128 GB DOMS!

@10MARC

I just bought two new 64Gb versions from ebay (UK site). They come in from China.

You can get them in 40 and 44 pin versions. The 40 pin ones require a power lead - usually supplied with new ones - which is fed from a Molex connector.

I fitted one in a G4 Powermac and you were so right about the write speed - 61/2 hours to install the OS!. Although when I've used them before, in my A1XE it's been a lot quicker.

Kingspec and Hyperdisk are two manufacturers I've used.

This week on 10MARC I am presenting another Amiga Adventures video - This one on the beautiful Amiga 3000 computer. In my humble opinion, this is the finest machine ever produced by Commodore. It was designed to fix all the shortcomings of the Amiga 2000 computer and combine it with the beauty and style of the original Amiga 1000 machine. And I would say it succeeded! Join me as we go over the features of the Amiga 3000 and learn more about its history.

Nice video, but... I really enjoyed the one before it. I hope there's going to be a sequel.

@10MARC

Hi Doug,

I've just watched episode 85 with great interest.

Why?

Because I'm in the middle of towerising one of my A1200's with OS 3.1.4, an 030 accelerator with 32Mb and an FPU, a Mediator PCI board and of course, I have a graphics card (plus sound card and network card) ready to roll.

So, there's a suggestion for a review episode for you.

All the best,

Fred
