Hi all,

I have an old Aspire ES 15 and would like to install Icaros 2.3.0.

I have managed to get it to boot from the CD, that was a struggle trying to get it to select the CD as primary boot option.

Unfortunately I am unable to partition and format the hard 1tb drive.

Is there any advice to get it working.

@1Mouse

Have you got an OS at all on your ES15?

Even if not, if you download any live Linux it should have a copy of GParted, which will let you partition and format as you desire.

Doesn't it prefer an empty partition to start with?

1TB is definitely a huge amount of space, since Icaros' SFS filesystem can handle up to 128 GB partitions. You whould follow instructions on Icaros user manual, which includes a step-by-step explanation of the correct procedure. First of all, have you alrady tried following it?

@paolone

Do you have a link?

Would AspireOS be a better option?

@1Mouse

You already have the manual in the ISO, under storage/icaros manuals. But you can download it from www.icarosdesktop.org
