| Hi, I have spare A3604 Rev 3.1 board that i'm having problems with.
Have tested this on a working Rev B motherboard, and both the M/B and A3640 card have been recapped. But when I put the cpu card on, the monitor flashed white bands in the middle of the screen then the whole screen goes blank, then turns purple for a few seconds, then finally flashed blue, before staying blue.
I have run Amiga Testkit v1.7 using another cpu card and everything checks out, so it's not the M/B. Any ideas please?

| I sent a few cards into Acill Computing to have them looked at - he said that when these A3640 cards fail, they tend to fail quite hard... Only one out of three of mine still work. You may be lucky, though, as mine just give me a black screen. I suppose there is a chance that you have a bad GAL, although not sure how that would happen unless there was some capacitor leakage. Maybe a bad timing crystal? I suppose you could check that with a Oscilliscope if you have one.

Are you sure it's not just a bad connection? Those 3640s are notorious for being intermittent if the board is not exactly parallel to the board underneath.

| Thanks for the reply's. The card is now in the safe hands of Tristan Sondag. If he cannot bring it back from the dead, then I doubt anyone can.
I' will let you know the outcome when I do

| @hese The card is now in the hands of Chucky gang for a transplant onto one of his new A3640 boards
