@amigang

Methinks someone could ask Geek Getaway if he's a little less confused? now about this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnxXEMW1yfI

He bases a premise at around 2:27:

Quote:
you know Amiga is not making a new console, but Intellivision is

iirc, that situation has somewhat changed.

@number6

So it is a bit clear now, why clonato objected,

Find it interesting it’s named The A500 mini, not Amiga Mini, or any official Amiga branding used, no colour tick or boing ball. I wonder if this would of cost them more, or Cloanto didn’t want it, or even this ip case / Hyperion case made it a issue to use them.

i still think it’s a stretch to think the name Amico & product would confuse the end consumer into thinking it was an Amiga. Just look at how much more coverage the A500 mini got because its pretty dam clear that it’s trying to be an Amiga. That with out even using the name Amiga or it logo, in fact I would of thought the name A500 mini would give them more grief to use considering I seen Samsung make a phone called a500, and Acer Iconia Tab A500, Corsair A500 fan etc.

@amigang

Their C64 and VIC products which don't use the Commodore name or logo so it's in keeping with their existing line. Another reason may be down to the 2009 settlement which IIRC stipulates that the Amiga parties cannot sell hardware called Amiga if it ships with Amiga OS in any form.

It could down to either or both of the Above.

So you can’t dislike something, twitter is not wherry useful service.
It’s a shame that Mike thinks its better that developers don’t get paid.

Read the twitter messages draw your own conclusions. Personally, don’t like free as in no one working on it, or no one improving it.

There's 500 million tweets sent every day so care to be bit more specific?

On other hand on twitter you will also get usefull messages like drinking bleach for curing Covid.

Basically, Mike wont continue profiting from Amiga Forever sales (outdated roms). But allow Hyperion to improvements as long as they can't pay there developers and contractors.

@NutsAboutAmiga

Is this the text you impreted that faulty conclusion on ?

Quote:
Under the agreement Ben Hermans reneged on, Amiga would have granted Hyperion the right (which it currently doesn't have) to release AmigaOS 3.2. If Hyperion wants to release it as a free update, Amiga has no objection, but Hyperion can't exceed its rights AND profit from it.

Since Hyperion is not allowed according to the agreement to release anything 3.x related only releasing 4.x. Amiga Corp. is the owner and of the Amiga content now, they can in retrospective view void any previous things that was settled if they really wanted.

The agreement to be able to release 3.2 at all under the terms which was made by Timothy De Groote and Amiga Corp. was that Hyperion shall not make any revenue of it.
It says nothing regarding the developers (contractors) but Hyperion shall not make any money of it.

Timothy is out of the picture, Ben renegades from the agreement and breaks the agreement once again.
They don't have any rights to release it still under this premisis.
As it is now, contractors ain't given any money for it and Ben Herman (which is the only one left in Hyperion) syphon all the money to himself and his court battle.

They didn't pay anything from 3.1.4 to devs. And it's not like they are paying OS4 devs either so you got to be living in different reality if you think that it's somehow Mike's fault.

You should consider giving up on this "Mike Battilana is the Antichrist" thing. Some day he may come out with something that's really cool, and you won't be able to like it, no matter how good it is.

NutsAboutAmiga's recent posts bashing Mike Battilana have been so misleading and illogical, I almost think that they are being written by Ben Hermans when he is drunk.

When he is willing to pay for development, and hires developers.
(No I’m not talking about setting up shell company in India. to copy Amiga Inc success, LOL)

instred of suing Intellivision, and Hyperion for making products.

Trying to prevent Hyperion from making money on OS3.2 to pay developers is not something I see any thing contributes to anything.

no time line, no one knows what, let me ask you this, how many developers are working for "Mike Battilana”?

nd you won't be able to like it

How can I like something that does not exist.

First he need to make a produkt, for Amiga systems, not just make commersal version of open source emulators.

I know some of you think of him as white knight, and nice person, but let me ask you how many of developers who has any software on Amiga Forever CD is being paid. If there are anyone who are people being paid, and for what.

Not forget all beta testers, that have reported bug's, and tried to be helpful on support forums.

That interesting. It just show how badly this legal issues need to be solved.

Just went down memory lane about another great company that once was active in Amiga community.

http://www.haage-partner.de/en/translation.html

Did know they where so active doing contract work for others, its real shame to have lost Hagge & Partner, I hope one day they return, hopefully when mismanagement of trademarks, and assets is solved.

“Ben Hermans” who was so shit poor he had steal money from business partner Trever, to cover legal costs. I doubt he is become rich; did you know he lost his wife fitting with Amiga Inc, I doubt this he planed or wanted this to happen.

Or he lost his wife because he was Ben Hermans. You know not everything revolve around Amiga. He's been scamming his bussiness partners even when there has not been courtcases. Rational thinking, you should try some.

Every person who has been in business with him has pretty much said that they have been screwd by him but somehow you manage to play that it's because he's victim of evil Cloanto. Your grasp of reality seems to be on level with ppcamiga1.

You can like what Mike does, or dislike what Mike does, I dislike what Mike does.
I don’t speak for ppcamiga1, he can speak for himself.
