Just pick forum software with a free ReST interface and I'll write a Hollywood applet using MUI Royale. No need for a browser at all!

If a change was to be made, is there a better choice than both this or what is at amiga.org? Just would like more than only these two choices to be considered...

Just archive this site and start a new one. If people want to talk about an old topic they can link to the archived site and carry on.

Agree. There is too much history here to risk losing.

btw-I hear the total content would fit on a dvd. Finally a sales opportunity for Amiga. heh.

Indeed, during the long downtime, amiga.org fell completely off my visit list. I go there occasionally to check if any news there not here or others, but I haven't seen a forum topic of interest there in so long, it's no longer a forum for me to even look. That isn't the software's fault of course, but it is hard to know if the result there is a better one if there isn't really any reason to get familiar with it.

@billt

I don’t know why they didn’t just update vBulletin. The site was running on an older version. vBulletin is very capable modern forum software. EAB and NewTek forums run on it just fine. All that downtime lost a lot of members. As the pervious owner that really bummed me out. I still want to see Amiga.org succeed even though I no longer own it.

It's just that it's a bummer that you left AO. See, you're an influencer.... you know people, you're an insider, you add value to any Amiga forum. And, you left. Kinda like the pied piper. Wish you would come back.

ONLY if there is a way to retain the existing default look and feel of Amigaworld.net with new more secure forum software.

NO, if the final result will look like amiga.org ...

I have difficulty reading Amiga.org with any web browser.  The layout of the Recent Forum Topics page just doesn't make sense to me.  I think maybe it is the choices used for fonts.  For me, the subjects seem to blend into each other. Maybe it would make a difference if the actual subject was in bold font. Once I'm into an actual forum thread, it's ok.

Like some others here, I would like to be able to view Amigaworld.net with IBrowse.

Of course, I have other choices, such as NetSurf, OWB and Odyssey.
