For those of you that don't know, the MiSTer FPGA board now supports RTG.
This allows you to build a pretty good classic Amiga using modern hardware.
I have mine hooked up to an old 19" CRT and it looks, sounds a feels exactly like my old A1200 (but now with the bonus of RTG).
I was thinking about getting another A1200 but they are very expensive these days and also getting a bit flaky due to their age so I thought I'd try something different.
This MiSTer performs like a real AGA 020 running at about 40 Mhz so it's fast enough for most classic games using WHDLOAD.
Yes with the IO Expansion you get a native VGA output which you can (optionally) scan double to 30 kHz
This makes it perfect with an old PC CRT monitor and works kinda like the old Amiga 3000 now.
You get perfect sharp RTG workbench and then it instantly switches over to 50 Hz for PAL games for some smooth scrolling action, it's basically perfect.
Yes, both RTG and PAL use the same VGA output on the MiSTer.
This video shows it in action in my Checkmate case
Very cool. I might have to grab one of those in the new year. Do you know exactly how far you can drive the RTG on those boards? I have an old 1920x1200 panel that runs at 60Hz, seems like it might fit the bill.

I bought a SiDi (cheap MiST knockoff) and now I'm wishing I'd waited and bought a MISTer. The MISTer has a much higher capacity FPGA and can be upgraded more easily than the SiDi as a result. The SiDi has a smaller Cyclone 4 than the MiST has as a Cyclone 3 board.
