Not sure if someone saw the A1222 site update lately:

A1222

So as it seams, Q2 2021 already.

@DiskDoctor

That's just for the Early Adopters. The great unwashed will get theirs closer to Christmas 2021 I would think? It's a loooooong time yet!

Yup, EA programme.

Forgot to mention that - I’m sorry

@BigD: "The great unwashed will get theirs closer to Christmas 2021 I would think?"

Could be earlier. If the production of the first 100+ boards is flawless, there is no reason to wait till Christmas for the next production run. Trevor already bought 1000 CPUs for Tabor/A1222Plus, so I would assume that at least 1000 boards are the goal.

But let's see what happens in Q2/2021.

Is it me or does this feel like a downgrade from say, a sam 460ex, despite the, uh, SATA2 and miniITX size??

it is currently estimated that delivery will commence in the second quarter of 2021.

Please note that due to the complexities of the project the estimated timescales are subject to change so expect the project to be release (or cancelled! ) in the third of fourth quarter of 2023.

Further official updates to this project will be made here on this beautiful HTML 1.2 website where we are even technically unable, unwilling, or just too lazy to install an SSL certificate

Please keep the NG goodness coming!
One thing is certain, as an entertainment system, the Amiga still works great.

MEGA!

@mobileconnect2: From what I heard from developers like Daniel Muessener (Tower57): No.

Even with one core Tabor should be more powerful than a SAM460ex, depends if FPU-emulation is needed or not. But let's wait for benchmarks after release.

At this point I can't help but think that this is Antigravity BoXeR part 2: so long and thanks for all the preorders.

Has anyone fixed GCC to work with Tabor CPU?

In current GCC situation new C++ stuff which requires Gcc9+ can't be compiled for Tabor so no webkit, not newer games or libraries. Using emulated FPU for web browsing is not the best thing users can expected.

@rzookol

The maintainer of the PowerPC SPE port is Andrew Jenner.

If you want to ask any questions you can find his email address by searching his name on this page.

Doesn't matter since PowerPC SPE support was dropped from gcc 9.

Name is on the list because older relases are still maintained.

So PowerPC SPE can never be supported in the current version again?

@Rob

When gcc drops support from something it means that it's truly truly dead. 3 major releases of gcc9 and it's absence from two gcc10 releases too should tell you something.

But yeah, I guess massive sales of Tabor will make em resurrect it.

@Rose

Didn't participants at last years Amiwest club together and pay the guy who does/did the PPC stuff to build it in?

He either plans to bring it up to the current version or doesn't. I see no harm in asking.

I wouldn't expect the A1222+ being on sale to have any effect unless someone who buys the hardware actually wants to do it themselves.
