I did it on my Sam440ep and it went smooth, it took 5 minutes total (making a backup before updating took me longer than the update itself). I haven't had any issues so far.

Long overdue but great news that there is finally an update, wasn't expecting to see this anytime soon (if ever).

I was told by Hyperion that I can share that news so:

Frederik (salas00) find out and fix the issue in the kernel which leads to all those disturbing issues of late, i.e. those as:

- freezing when using browsers
- mouse/stalls freezes
- networks stalls (especially on SAms)
- strange behaviors of simple mail when placing icons on wb
- issues with "priorities/tasks"
- hanging forbid on exit
- random lockups/crashes on running/exit apps
and so on.

That all will be available pretty soon in the hotfix update (i didn't know the exact date, but I assume few days or a week maximum). The hotfix will also contain some more fixes (not in the kernel area) in newlib, dox, text clip handling, etc, but the kernel one is one that is really important.

So for now those ones who have issues of such kind just switch back to the kernel from update1 and wait for a hotfix which should be out very soon.

Just we were a bit in a hurry when preparing the update (were in fear of something will happen again in the last minutes), so we were on a strict deadline and just didn't catch the small mistake which leads to such massive problems, but Frederik finds and fix so stay tuned.

just updated my x1000, amispere frozen, had one grim reaper just random and drop down menu seem to disappear that all I notice so far, so please to hear a hot fix is coming!! still the Os did seem to run a bit quicker I felt.

Yeah, fine as long as it's not on my X1000, otherwise it just freezes the system on boot!

Seeing changelog you for sure know what to expect from x1000: there you need not only switch back kernel, but also graphics.library and remove pasami module in kickstart.

But you know, you better just wait for hotfix instead and not mess the system if you already can't deal with :)

Or in my case, I found out I can't enable compositing with interrupts on. Really strange as it worked fine for ages. But on Update 2 this setting now freezes.

Used Odyssey to download the hotfix.

Downloaded and installed hotfix.

Right now the time is 20:27 here on Jan 12.

Posting with IBrowse. Will comment further after I have had a chance to check my system.

Update 2 hotfix fixes Ringhio notifications as it is now aware of choosen preferences but it seems that the picture within the pop-up is no longer displayed (I noticed it in DirMeUp. Also in Odyssey and YAM)

I was able to install 53.14 after updating AmiUpdate and installing some other files like MUI and Amissl.
My system is a Amiga Classic with Flower Pot.
I chose not to use the fresh install.
AmiUpDate has a bad icon on the task bar when launched.

I did run Fix Fonts after the install.
All seemed to go well. I do not have a powerful Win 10 PC to begin with.

Got things working fine on my X5000. Most of the changes are "under the hood", so you don't see a lot. But... I've seen OS4.1 Final Update and now OS4.1 Final Update 2 and a Final Update 10 is almost certain to happen eventually. But it makes me think of OS4.2. Over the years it's gone from an ordinary OS enhancement to "legendary" and then "mythical". It has gathered history behind it and acquired a mystical aspect like the Lock Ness Monster or Big Foot or UFO's. Is it real? Did somebody really see it? Is it true that somebody claimed to find evidence that it exists? Was there ever such a thing? Was it nothing but a log entry floating on a software purge that somebody mistook for an algorithm?
