The vaccine no doubt was orders of magnitude more complicated and expensive to develop compared to the A1222Plus. The difference is that the AZD1222 is the right product at the right price at the right time!! Can we say that about the A1222Plus? _________________ "Art challenges technology. In 1798 people were vaccinated against smallpox. None of the recipients has survived... Makes one think, doesn't it?

If only they put the vaccine on a preorder, with a T-shirt and all! I'm sure more Amigans would become interested

Even better. Call it AmiVax, put it in red/white checkered vial. Make it give you horrible diarrhea for week and 5x more expensive than competition and you are guaranteed to have a hit. |

its always worth remembering that vaccine research is carried out professionally in labroatories by trained experts and has been proven to save more lives than have been lost. The vaccine is much better for you and society than the effects of this horrible disease.
Anti-vax research is often carried out by someone sat on their toilet seat scrolling through their Facebook feeds having their mental health questioned by state actors all too willing to manipulate the minds of the vulnerable.
Stay safe out there, wear a mask and social distance from others.

Bless you but my experiences working a lot of extra shifts these past 9 months because people haven't been following the rules is that it's important not to die of ignorance.
The answer as to why you should wear a mask around others and social distance should be blatantly obvious on a cold crisp day when you can see your breath, after all Covid is a respiratory virus.

I am even less likely to have the oxford vacine now. |
I'm not sure I follow (other than the similar name) as I've read the link and have more faith in the techniques and checks put in place!
Quote:
Adenoviruses have been used for many years to make vaccines, and these are always tested to very high standards to make sure every batch of vaccine has the correct copy of genetic instructions embedded in the vaccine. However, thanks to very recent advances in genetic sequencing and protein analysis technology, researchers at Bristol were for the first time also able to directly check thousands and thousands of the ‘photocopied’ instructions produced by the Oxford vaccine within a cell. In this way they were able to directly validate that the instructions are copied correctly and accurately, providing greater assurance that the vaccine is performing exactly as programmed.
At the same time, the researchers checked the spike protein being made by the vaccine inside human cells also accurately reflects the instructions as programmed. This brand-new approach may be more routinely used in the future to help researchers fine tune the performance of these kinds of vaccines. |
It all sounds good to me! Better than having 1 in 50 UK citizens infected with this blasted thing, clogging up the NHS indefinitely, crippling our economy and letting people think they can have a rave everytime restrictions are eased _________________ "Art challenges technology. ... however, I don't think these Indian 'professionals' have done sufficient trials before they unleash their 'vaccine' on the world. Wasn't the 'vaccine' in the film version of 'I Am Legend' supposed to 'cure' cancer? Sometimes you can make things worse by cutting corners

They won’t.
As long as specific fraction of the population is vaccinated.
Which is the most problematic thing right now.
EDIT* if most of the elder population is vaccinated, the virus poses no more threat anymore, being transmitted or not. Last edited by DiskDoctor on 05-Jan-2021 at 10:42 PM.

| Just for the record I tested positive I had mild loss of taste and smell. Im not writting this post from my grave. I have since done a anti body test as well and should have the results soon.
It will take more than Covid to stop me seeing the A1222 get released sometime before the next lock down as this one still has not mad a difference...

So where did I say the vaccines are useless?
My concern is that that it may not lower the number of deaths with covid to what is seen as an acceptable level. The acceptable level is likely to judged as being much lower than the around 20,000 influenza related deaths in the UK because Covid 19 has become a political football whearas most of the public have no idea about the flu deaths because the media isn't feeding us daily tallies on those or any other deaths. This ultimately the thing that determines when we come out of these lockdowns and return to some semblance of normality.
I'll make it clear that this isn't a predication or projection, rather in the words of Pinky and Perky (Witty and Valance), it's a scenario.
Hopefully my concerns are uneccessary and the vaccines turn out to be the magic bullet the media is now touting them as. |

The Covid vaccines are supposed to be like the Influenza vaccine. You're supposed to get a booster each year and it makes you just as sick as the disease and for just as long.
That said, I hope they still develop other treatment options. |
