Yup, nothing new. There has been Xeons with fpga's since 2018. It's safe to say that it won't be available on desktop offerings in near future.

And the FPGA on MiSTer has a build in Dual Core ARM 800MHz MCU, that is used under Minimig for reading hard files and ADFs from SD-Cards.
