Hi there,

I decided to share here what I read in most recent Amiga Future.

The company called CS-Lab is developing its Warp line accelerators, this time, dedicated to CDTV systems.

Below one might a picture of this miracle card:

Here are the specs of the card, for A1200 though however this would remain the same:

Quote:

MC68060 CPU
256MB DDR3 RAM
RTG Graphics – up to 1920x1080 resolution 32bit color and Digital Video output
16bit Audio Codec
on-board FastIDE interface
400MHz ARM co-processor
USB Host Ports
WiFi module
microSD card slot
on-board fast ROM with slots up to four Kickstart versions and burst access
on-board connector for optional flicker-fixer module (in development)

The price is aimed at ca. 500 EUR (without 060 CPU), however taking into account the breadth of features and also, the de facto lack of extension cards for CDTV, that's the great news for anyone owing a CDTV Amiga system!

I plan getting CDTV myself shortly, so I am really happy I might -- yet this year possibly -- give it such a sound upgrade!

@DiskDoctor

This is very cool but I’m a bit mortified they picked the CDTV over the CD32.

Great achivement but will be in very limited numbers due to the complete lack of 060 r6 CPU's.

@DiskDoctor

Interesting though I'd imagine the single speed CD drive of the CDTV may be something of a bottleneck

Spud.

@g01df1sh

Think you only need an 060 r6 if you wanna overclock it. I guess it -should- run fine w/o an r6.

Awesome news, I look forward to getting more information about this. I own two unexpanded CDTV systems and really love them. I’ve always liked the CDTV and CD32.

@Akiko

CD32 is more to gaming console, CDTV is more to "classic" classic Amiga, wrapped in an elegant, set-top case.

Nope and won't. To quote him...

"You see the thing is I would have opened up the Gerbers for the TF536 around now anyways. Everyone knew this. It was actions by a particular group of people originating from a particular country to "show me"/"teach me a lesson". Well i learned the lesson.. dont have anything to do with the Amiga community.

I am having lots of fun continuing to improve my boards for my own happiness but i do not feel any need to share these with anyone except my friends."

So yes, there are some of them in the wild but compared to that my DKB Wildfire is common and popular accelerator.

Bonus, ppl whined about him asking £15 for early run PCB's of TF536 when he tried to recoup at least some of development costs.

@JKD

You need to ask the vendor.

Or else, check out this EAB recent thread.

The CD32 can be a fully fledged Amiga like any other, the SX-32 Pro and the Elsat pro modules, as well as TF accelerators prove that.

1. The CD32 is widely available and unlike the CDTV is not as rare as hens teeth.

2. The CD32 has a smaller footprint than the A600 making it the most compact classic Amiga, add the new TF riser board which includes support for wireless keyboard and HID mouse and USB wireless controller support.

3. The CD32 has a decent sized expansion bay, which likely offers better airflow for expansions compared to the A1200 and CDTV.

4. The CD32 most importantly has the AGA chipset meaning you can enjoy the full Amiga library, including those AGA games and scene demo's that most benefit from an 060 accelerator!

Refreshing to see you write this... it wasn't so long ago that you only wanted RAM expansion and little else, because "it's just meant as a console!" :D
