@NutsAboutAmiga

A1200, Blizzard 1230IV and 8 MB Fast RAM here. I also have an Amiga 500 with A501 memory expansion (OCS). Both are now in a safe storage as I use WinUAE for my Amiga needs.

@NutsAboutAmiga

So what should I answer for an A3000 with CVPPC?

Yep. ECS+RTG+3D here also. Most common original Amiga combos are probably.

1. ECS
2. AGA
3. ECS+RTG

Surely AGA machines with Zorro III buses had a more popular selection of graphics cards? Are you telling me the Picasso IV was many used on A2/3000 machines??

@BigD,

Speaking of, I have a Picasso 4 on my A2000 and a Cybervision64/3D on my A4000T.

May want to replace the latter with a ZZ9000.

The 3000(T) is ECS but has Zorro III slots. If it had AGA like it should have then AGA+RTG would be more popular. What are the most popular big box Amigas?

1. 2000 - ECS with Zorro II
2. 3000(T) - ECS with Zorro III
3. 4000(T) - AGA with Zorro III

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the 4000s were Toasters. I only knew one guy who bought a 4000 back in the day. They were seen as cheapened compared to the 3000. All they had to offer was AGA while they lost SCSI and the CPU options were pathetic (low performance 030 or 040) . CBM made no attempt to speed up AGA and even Amiga RTG cards were getting faster at that time. I had a friend who bought a CV64 for his 3000 at about the same time and it made the AGA 4000 look antiquated. The 1200 was cheap enough that it offered a nice upgrade over the 500 but big box Amigas were more popular here in the U.S. because of their expandability. I knew more Amiga Users with 1200s than 4000s though.

My main machine is an A1200T with MediatorPCI/Voodoo3 - so AGA, TrueColour, 3D.

Now wouldn't it be nice if an accelerator card had GPU connectors and graphics cards the an input for it.

Like CyberStormPPC has for CVPPC and BlizzardPPC has for BVisionPPC? :)

All Vampire V500v2 and V600v2 systems are also OCS/ESC + true colour RTG.

People already complained about the lack of OCS/ECS+RTG option, count me in on that, due to my A2000+060+PicassoIV. But I have an A1200/Warp1260 and an A4000T/CSPPC/ZZ9000 machine as well, so voted AGA+RTG (2D).

@Chain-Q

Anyway, I intended this pool show best graphic card abilities. Not the least good option.

I tend to forget the A2000, A3000 computers, yes, there graphic cards for A500, can you tower a Amiga500 with a checkmate A1500, but this not so common.

You also kind add AGA to A500 with new Vampire and ACA500 upgrades, etc.
Anyway, kind of nice have pancake option, many people feel like they must vote.

It just needed the AGA option part removed. How often is the Amiga chipset used once you have an RTG card? Most of the time it's just to play an OCS game i.e. Turrican or Rainbow Islands so it's pointless to have it there. Something like T-Zero would only work with AGA but there's not many games like that maybe SimCity 2000 but I think there's a RTG patch isn't there?

@NutsAboutAmiga

I wish I had a Graffiti box.
Maybe a Raspberry Pi could work.

I also would not mind having a RGB to HDMI adapter that is external for my A600.
My daydreaming, a higher resolution ECS would be great. More chip ram would be needed.

Not really, there is no new Vampire for A500, only same old v500v2 and a 3(?) year old alpha core that just barely has a few AGA capabilities. There aren't any ACA upgrades that provide chipset upgrades - do you mean Indivision ECS? In any case, not at all AGA.

@BigD

It just needed the AGA option part removed. How often is the Amiga chipset used once you have an RTG card?

Most games are AGA games ECS or OCS, and they do not work on RTG, they are hard coded, even if the game was system friendly, developers wont query the bitmap for BytesPerRow, or check what graphic mode to use, the high level graphic primitive draw routines, are too slow. They are only used for applications that do not update graphics too often. Or simple card games, most games are written to be booted from floppy drive, before any graphic drivers are loaded, whdload does not really solve that.

Many of games that where written to be HD installable are RTG friendly, UFO enemy unknown, is a example of that. (does not work on AmigaONE, due to music and timing, but it almost there.)

Note that game is not listed as RTG game. But is actually one, Games can be RTG friendly, if they are 100% system friendly. So, they can work RTG even if they are not advertised as RTG.

You can try use ModePro to change screen mode, if the game is hard coded to a screen mode id, often the game just break if you try.

https://www.lemonamiga.com/games/list.php?list_hardware=RTG&lineoffset=28

Anyway if sum up the people who has a 2D RTG card, and the people with 3D graphic card, you get sizable market, however AGA market is of course larger, because its onboard chipset.
