Hi,
Will you be able to run Amiga OS 3.2 on a PC. I have Amikit but understand it will not support the new OS 3.2 as it uses afa os? Are there any options available?

@radar

What is the conflict between 3.2 and AFA OS modules?

Amikit is just a collection of software, most of it you find on Aminet, and you can install it yourself,
amikit will most likely be updated to support AmigaOS4.2. you don’t need Amikit to emulate AmigaOS, you need kickstart rom, and you need workbench disks, or AmigaOS4.2 on CD image, once you have added the kickstart, you should be able to install the OS from CD/floppy boot disk.

I have similar questions: will AmigaOS 3.2 run on FS-UAE and/or Amiberry?

From the FAQ, which @number6 posted on another thread:

Quote:
We cannot ensure that OS 3.2 operates correctly under all the different types of emulation since we cannot control these environments. We tried our best, however, to keep it as compatible as possible.

3.2 FAQ is also on Aminet

I guess the only thing to do is try it and see how it works.

They already tested it extensively during the beta. It works. The disclaimer in the FAQ is because they can't guarantee it, because how could they, when they don't control the emulators.

AmigaOS 5.0 (Better than OS X said Bill McEwen) is closer than ever now. I can taste it.

@Mobileconnect

According to Jan author of Amikit he says Amiga os 3.2 does not work with Amikit due to afa os.
Is there a workaround?

Yes, don't use AmiKit. Or wait until he fixes it. Or just turn AFA_OS off because it's a dirty hack.

Remember, AmiKit is not a real OS, it's a distribution of random amiga shareware and games to make it easy for people who don't know how to use Amiga, to use Amiga. If you already know how to setup your own Amiga, you don't need it, or can just pick and choose the bits you like.
