@Mobileconnect

Please understand I am not questioning your post. You did mention their involvement in terms of relation to Hyperion.
Since the involvement of Thomas with ExecSG team is shown through slides and dialog at each AmiWest, we can say there is that connection, until otherwise informed.

My question about the website and other Hyperion social media is simply that...a question.
Signing things "The Hyperion Management Team" still seems odd.

example from before they started to hide who was there and who no longer was

@Samwel

Previously on Old and the Relentless

Richard T. Richardson, the new head of the family business has decided to shut down most of his oil wells. He told his cousin and business partner Amanda Katherine Thatcher that it is because of the change in quality of the crude, but what he hasn't told her is that it's because most of the wells have dried out. He want's to focus instead on growing his refineries and distribution businesses.

Meanwhile, Anthony Cucchiara who runs a casino in Reno and is a member of the Sicilian mafia family out of Agrigento, has invested some money in a few of Richardson's oil wells, the ones Richard is keeping open, as part of his investment in some new plastics that are coming out of a small refinery in Rotterdam. The refinery is behind on its research and Anthony is growing impatient.

The Uranus-Gaia refinery in Rotterdam has had much financial difficulties, and have recently replaced their president Herman Benson III. The company is also embroiled in corporate espionage over some of the monomers they are using in their polymerisation processes. Their key assets on the ground are either compromised or they keep switching sides.

In a hidden lab within the Swiss alps, Dr Clonato is working on a new experiment to revive dead brain cells. Much like that of the fictional character of Dr Frankenstein. Dr Clonato believes that he can activate the dead brain cells by grafting them onto the living brain cells of another host. The missing key ingredients are the monomers of the kind that Uranus-Gaia claim to have invented.

In Transylvania, the Monarch Group, a lab founded by renegade organic chemists, have created their own recipe for a new version of an old and familiar plastic. Unlike the plastic Uranus-Gaia is struggling to develop, Monarch is not using monomers. Their spies have been accused of having access to the monomer formula, but Monarch Group is mostly interested in tetramers used by advanced chemists in the world's top refineries. Access to these tetramers has proven difficult, and the group has recently been mostly quiet, leaving everyone to wonder what they might be up to.

Our idealistic friends at SORA (Simulation of Old Refinery Architecture), since their successful re-implementation of old refinery architecture and production of old monomer formulas using new crude, have also been looking into tetramers. The key problem for them is that tetramers can only be produced in modern 4th generation refinery architectures and later. Assimilating the tetramer concepts into a refinery architecture for monomers is no easy task. On the plus side, they have been able to produce old monomers from a wide variety of crude oils and derivatives, including old shale and even natural gas.

After coming home from 2 tours in Iraq, and another tour in Afghanistan, a new group of chemists who got their degrees via military scholarships have performed the closest thing to alchemy in the modern age. They formed a new company based out of Luxembourg called Artemis, and have developed a "smart" plastic which leverages the latest developments in synthetic oils. The smart plastic can change its behaviour to suit the application. They've successfully simulated old monomers which are actually constructed from modern chains of molecules. As such, they have found a natural synergy with SORA.

Will Uranus-Gaia infiltrate Artemis for their desperately needed insights into monomers? Will Anthony Cucchiara lose patience and send some of his Sicilian associates up north? Will Dr. Clonato finally succeed in reanimating long dead brains? Will the Monarch Group finally crack their tetramer problem? And will Richardson reorganise his refineries and distribution businesses in an alliance with Monarch, and cut his cousin Amanda out of the new venture? Tune in next week for another chapter in Old and the Relentless.

Question away, my information is third hand through what I read in the forums. I just mean I haven't seen or heard any Frieden show any interest in many years, and they were always pretty uncollaborative anyway. I always had the feeling their method was intellectual vanity over pragmatism.

@Mobileconnect
The Friedens are actively involved in AOS4 stuff, your feelings are just that and you should stop listening to your third hand.
That the Friendens don't show up or comment on any public forums is a well known fact for many years now, mostly because (and I was told 1st hand) they cannot stand all those bs-talking people all around there (which unfortunately - and in all fairness - would include you with your wild speculations on their activities, I guess).

@FairBoy

I remember meeting them at the X1000 launch at Bletchley. They were quiet and very tired (probably from working to get AmigaOS Beta to boot just prior to the show)! I made it a priority to thank them for their efforts and their view was that the platform should continue as long as there was user sales and community support. I think in all honestly they felt that the X1000 could be the last hurrah! They were far more approachable then Ben and Varysis. Trevor was busy handshaking but obviously friendly and approachable.

I don't sense that the Friedens are vain just talented natural introverts that would collaborate if managed as part of a team. Steve Solie is ideal to head up these sort of projects it still confuses me how he could fall out with Hyperion. The NDA agreement just have been unreasonable.

Steven explained that at the time in general terms:

Quote:
I was told I was not trusted. When I asked for specifics I was given the silent treatment.

Perhaps being pictured having a good time with Hyperion's "enemies" was reason enough? We'll never know.

Interesting to me because recently someone posted about another picture and concluded everyone must be on friendly terms because they seem happy in the picture.

@number6

I can tell you right now, they don't want to be clowns for the Amiga communities amusement. They won’t be positing on public forums.
