Poll : What should happen to AmigaOS?
Should be founded and close sources (a proper strategy and plan forward)
Should not founded and open source (hopefully some random stuff happens)
Pancakes.

This poll is a bad attempt at trolling.

Not at all, I’m clearly not neutral, not even trying to be. in my option people should be reflect on what are advantages and what disadvantages are, we can disagree on that.

Right now there is some out spoken people in comments, think is Evil to run a business, and try to make money, clearly not everyone agree with that.

and the OS was neither "funded"

Hypperion Entiement has had 2 contract works, this explained in 2007 interview with Ben.

«Steffen Häuser» I know worked for Hyperion at one time, not sure when he quit. Anyway many different developers have worked for Hyperion free or on contract for short or long periods.

Hyperion had other developers as well

nor was there a proper strategy or a plan forward.

Every AmiWest they talked about future, and what going to do next,
Roadmaps has present for AmigaOS4.0 / 4.1 & 4.2 and 5.0

AmigaOS3.1.4 and 3.2 has maybe more add-hoc / Agile coming up with ideas, where developers talking about what they where doing, and getting input from the community, of course some of work was back porting, sure there lot unpaid work, developers working on side in there free time.

Yet your question implies that only closed source development could achieve any of those goals.

No, not at all, there are teams working well, manage and coordinate things, and then there is lots of open-source project, people start and that die as one developer lose interest in it, or because no one cares. Or people believe it should be done in a different way. Coordinating people and talking about how to do something is important, so 10 developers don’t doing the same thing, of course its bad if one 1 developer get assigned 10 tasks, and the developer does do it, when other developers can do it, good management is important, 2 developers doing the same is not necessarily bad, as you can try different concepts, but one developer assigned too many tasks is bad, many developers wasting time on the something is bad.

When talk developers working on random stuff, is result where developers do not work from list of priorities, or do not know what people work on and not.

@BigD

Why can't people pay for an open source product? After all, why would they pay more for closed source supported by only a given devs when they could have these same devs and who knows even one more by the sole virtue of being open source....

@NutsAboutAmiga

The longer these court cases continue, the less it really matters.

My advice ... There are many flavours available. Have some fun.

I pay more to open source development every month than what I pay for Amiga software every year.

It's amazing the developer support that the Amiga market used to be able to afford.

Inside Commodore 1988.

Today, the Amiga market only generates enough money to pay Ben, our modern day Irving Gould. Maybe we need another Deathbed Vigil for another Amiga death.

Deathbed Vigil 1994 (original to get us prepared for another death)

Thanks Dave. Only Amiga makes it possible!
