History

Commodore USA consistently focused[20] on bundling an alternate operating system, preferring Linux. It previously claimed that their machines support every operating system available from Ubuntu specifically, to Windows and even OSx86,[21] but disclaiming that they do not and will not sell Mac OS X. Commodore USA's online store sold Microsoft Windows separately and bundled Linux in their keyboard computers. Later, Commodore USA announced that they would officially support, develop, and ship their computers with AROS,[22] but shifted their focus on redesigning Linux as Amiga Workbench 5, and Amiga Workbench X, but decided to name it Commodore OS and dropped all plans of making it resemble an Amiga-like operating system due to additional legal proceedings.[23]

Examples of announced products that appear to have been cancelled are Invictus[24] and Amigo.[25][26] The Commodore USA website was redesigned and an interactive forum was launched at the same time. High-end Amiga-PC designs were posted on the website. The company licensed the Commodore brand from Commodore Licensing, BV on August 25, 2010. It licensed the Amiga brand from Amiga, Inc. shortly afterwards on August 31.

Barry Altman, founder of Commodore USA, died on December 8, 2012.

Pretty tough choices,

If your basing it on what Amiga inc done over the last decade, then my answer would be
Haage & Partner, as they look like they kept going (last update was 2017 on there site) so maybe they made money after leaving the Amiga, plus they made quite a few successful products and kind of knew when to perhaps leave the Amiga market, from a business point of view a the right time.

If you mean Amiga Inc / Cloanto of today then, Cloanto has been most successful as they made there money from selling Roms to the point they where able to get control of Amiga inc and now look like they have a pretty good future selling license to various products, Amiga films, Mini Amiga, etc. all at no real cost to them.

Hyperion Entertainment are still going somehow, they likely should of gone bankrupt but still manage to keep going and be a thorn in Cloanto and likely A-EON side now just sitting on OS4 rights. so there playing a interesting game, weather it be successful or not I dont know, but least in the mean time they brought out a pretty good solid classic update (Os3.2) and for a time did do pretty good OS4 and game ports.

I did not answer the actual poll because I have no idea which was most successful sales wise.

However, I would speculate that Cloanto was and is successful.

Please clarify if you refer to the old Amiga Inc or new Amiga Inc (Cloanto).

My opinions …

IMHO, Amiga Inc of old was simply a shell game.
IMHO, Hyperion Entertainment lost its way in litigation.
IMHO, Haage & Partner probably had some success with 3.5 and 3.9.
IMHO, ESCOM made an honest try on the hardware side.
IMHO, VISCORP made an honest effort with the A4000 tower.
IMHO, Eyetech made an honest attempt with AmigaOne and MicroA1.
IMHO, Commodore USA was a scam.

But this is a very small market and it is hard to keep it going.

I know that some people will disagree and I respect that.

Haage & Partner most defiantly had some success selling software to AmigaOS, before starting working with Amiga Inc.

AmigaWriter, ArtEffect, DrawStudio, Tornado3D, PageStream, StormC, StormWizard, Genesis, Fusion, PCx.

Anyway I was poor student at time, so never really get buy there products, as did not work on Amiga500, but anyway, if was not student, I probably support Hagge & Partner.

they sold it off to Alina computers if I understand it correct, but software had not been updated or fixed, there some issues that needs fixing, some stuff need to be improved.

Economic success.
Number of sales.
number of years in business, before going bankrupt, (or quiting).

I think ESCOM made some money selling towered A1200/A4000.

Why no Cloanto option and why the entries for C= shell companies? C= Gaming probably made more money with their PC cases than C= USA ever did!

I would vote for Cloanto but there's no option.

Haague & Partner were the next successful and had the potential to have been even more so with Amithlon. They even picked the most opportune time to leave the Amiga market and have made a success of themselves apart from it.

Nor have included AEON or AmigaKit, partly because no space, partly they are new commers and partly because they (never) worked on AmigaOS. Cloanto made few unofficial boing bags I believe, and that was all. AEON has provided excellent addons. can you say thats Trever who owns the ExecSG Team, not AEON. AEON however falls in same group as Eyetech. but then again did talk about ACK or Troika. Nor did bring up ACube-Systems that has done few drivers and provided hardware.

Maybe Eyetech did not belong in this pool,
maybe hardware companies should put in its own pool.

IMHO, ACube Systems Srl provided a valuable service, supplying hardware and drivers for OS4 after the demise of Eyetech. Of course I don't know the details of any contracts, but I was sad to see the SAM products disappear.

I could not justify the price of purchasing a new X1000 or new X5000, and A1222Plus (Tabor) is taking forever.

Perhaps, ACube could do another production run of SAM 460 if they are really out of stock.

Escom had more success in a matter of months than any of the other have had in decades.
Longevity is moot when you've been a corpse the whole time.

Objectively, most of those companies can't even be considered as being successful, let alone to compare them to each other in an Amiga context spanning a quarter of a century, where many were not contemporaries.

Even including ACube, Cloanto, and A-Eon would make it too close to call.
