Cloanto is an Italian company that as you know developed the Amiga Forever suite/package.

Yes I think they can do more like new games and things.In fact there are other users/coders doing great games for Amiga,being Amiga 1200,CD32 or AmigaOne X5000/SAM 460ex.

Anyway I will wait for more.

And nothing more to say,except pancakes and gifts.You know? Amiga is only the best because its graphics,sound animation and specially its games and aplications (Blender,Lightwave or Deluxe Paint II)

I love Amiga,this will be till death for all the time

@MEGA_RJ_MICAL

Amiga Racer

That's will be till the end of times,I reckon

But I will not sell my soul to any other user.

If you want to critize all THE ENTIRE AMIGA MACHINE CIRCA then do it,I will not critize you,is a lot of waste of time for my deeds,so cut all the disease or continue.

Just love what you have and then don't tell me things absurd.

Thanks to Amiga Racer and Michael St. Neizel for its great masterpiece!!!!

referencing post #22 this thread

You might recall that RetroGames Ltd. had trademarked both "TheAmigaMini" and "TheA500", but settled on using "TheA500" for their product due to the conflict over use of the toxic "Amiga" word.

The following illustrates a change:

Both "A500" (not to be confused with "TheA500") and "TheAmigaMini" are now trademarks of Amiga Corporation.

Do not be confused by the difference in the company making the assignment for "A500". Subvert Ltd. is merely Paul Andrews, the same as with Retro Games Ltd.

There are other changes to be announced at the upcoming shows in October.

Why would Amiga Corporation trademark C64 and VIC20 words? That's nothing to do with the Amiga. Those are Commodore products and irrelevant to anything Amiga.

Subvert Ltd? That says it all. Subversion.

@Hypex

Maybe their aim is not just get the Amiga trademark back together but also the commodore brand.

I just wish we really knew what there goals are with Amiga, is it to open source the os? Is it just retro / emulation? Is it just a licensing company, Or do they have plans on pushing the platform forward like at least A-eon is trying, with there graphics and os4 work and Amikit xe showing how far emulation setup can be pushed to, and at least Hyperion legally, or illegal has allowed some classic os improvements to happen.

Just wish the official owners inspired me more with their future plans. A500 mini still feel to me like a bit of a missed opportunity to really show the world what an Amiga was, as many will still view it (maybe even more so now) as a gaming platform.

Licensing was a severe issue especially with the ongoing court case. It's a miracle it came out at all. Rest assured with side-loaded AMiNIMiga (a Workbench Distro) and Pandory (the latest Amiberry 5.3/Retroarch Emulation) it is a fully functioning Amiga as we all know it!

Well at least TheA500 was released...unlike some other products that took money from investors and did nothing...

It seems Bill M. was ahead of the game on this tactic...

A500, C64, (and for that matter A1000, AXXXX, +4) etc etc are just abbreviation of the name of the full product. They are of common usage in the retro world. I am not sure if / how they can qualify as a trademark.

Quote:
Courts, United States Patent & Trademark Office ("USPTO") Examiners, and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (the "Board") will determine if an acronym, abbreviation, or initialism can be protected as a trademark by examining whether there is a meaning that is distinct or separate from the underlying generic or descriptive term it represents. Therefore, it is possible that the acronym, abbreviation or initialism may be able to serve as a source identifier, even if the underlying words or term does not function as a trademark.

Overall it seems silly to me.

Because Battilana/Cloanto/Amiga Corporation owns Any and All IP from the old Commodore corporation including everything regarding the Amiga, the C64, VIC20, PET, etc (but excluding the Commodore trademark) and they have been selling products (like ”C64 Forever”) based on the C64 etc for many years.

My guess is that also the Commodore brand will be added to the portfolio at one point, and the company will then be renamed to ”Commodore Amiga Corporation”…

Silly, but it's the law.

Today I was cleaning out the dresser and found a lovely white and gold Amiga pin badge that I acquired back in the day. I can pin it to anything and they can't stop me!
