A very large change is coming in the Amiga community. People tend to resist change, whether or not it is good or bad. Of all the forums I have visited recently, this is the worst one. The anger on this site is very palpable. I was hoping by posting a few things that what is happening would be avoided, or at least minimized. Such, however is not going to be the case.
It is normal only, in the fact that it represents the last possible challenge to the existing order.
My advice to Amigakit is to press on with the changes he is proposing and let the chips falll where they may.
Sooner or later people will have to deal with this in a rational manner. Hopefully sooner, rather than later. |

Why would any AmigaOS 4 user want to use a cheap clone of it?
Especially on this forum. Do you not remember the vitriol and hate poured on MorphOS 20 years ago?
And there’s also no way in hell Amigakit’s clone will be as well engineered or mature as MorphOS either. |

| I think people are bored. Bored people and a layer of anonymity. Not as bad as gaming socials though, possibly because most people on here are old men. I visit this site once a year at most so don't really notice any major issues. Last edited by mac6 on 15-May-2022 at 10:25 PM.

| Is time real?
Time is complex. There's real time, which is the ordinary every day time that happens most of the time; work, parenting responsibilities, etc. Then there's imaginary time, which is the time I think I'm going to get to myself once the kids are in bed, but, of course, rarely do. No it's not.

You're clearly very new to the scene.
People still argue irrationally about os3.x/os4.x/mos and AROS, each of which was new at some point. Nothing will change just because of another fragmentation. Its just more fodder to argue about. Last edited by fishy_fis on 16-May-2022 at 11:36 AM.

This is becoming common in polls. The subject asks one question and the poll asks another which looks confusing. This was not intended as happened to my last poll.
Is time real? Only when it's moving in realtime.
Are insulting people retarded? No, not always, they are just jerks. However, some insulting people can act retarded. Probably because they really are retarded even without an intellectual disability. It's amazing how young people suddenly turn into a spastic when a disabled person walks past. However, a retarded person could insult other people and in this case, insulting people would be retarded.
It's simply easier to insult people than to be constructive or give a positive word. It's kind of funny that an insult can be made in an attempt to make another look stupid and make the self look smart when disagreeing with their ideas. When it takes less brain power to do and more brain power to understand an idea and see ways to implement it. Last edited by Hypex on 16-May-2022 at 09:23 AM.

Is Time real? Absolutely. Furthermore, paradoxically, time is finite. It's best to think of it as the interaction quotient of causality, rather than anything such as a line or a dimension.
As to your poll, I chose not to participate as I don't use profanities in my forum contributions. I do not identify with any of the poll options.
Also, the use of labels such as "retarded moron" for non-mentally-deficient individuals is perfectly OK, and the linked video is not relevant to our everyday use case. It's like when here in Australia we call someone the C word. It's only ever an insult with a specific inflection.
Insults are not a direct surrogate for murders, just like sports are not a direct surrogate for wars. What these concepts have in common is that both satisfy specific psychological tendencies that are also satisfied with actual aggression and physical harm.
Like how eating chocolate sends signals to the pleasure centre more than the satiation centre, which has a very similar pattern to the act of sex, but eating chocolate is not a surrogate for sex.
One doesn't need to know a lot to not be a retarded moron. The key thing is to know one simple fact: Things are never as simple and straightforward as one might feel or think they are. _________________ All the way, with 68k |

This is likely due to the fact that none of the options have anything to do with the question "Is time real?"
Poll: What's your favorite color?
1. Tuesday
2. 42
3. Brooklyn, New York

Time, in and of itself, is a human artefact, and does not exist as an object. Just as 'thoughtfulness' is a human artefact, so is 'time'. Being a factor in 'our' calculations doesn't make it a thing (or real). It is simply a representation within other things that are themselves real.
Reference by science does not make a thing. For example virtual particals are not real. They are representations of something else. Just like a 'hole' which is 'real' only by the existance of the dirt around it. It is not of itself real.
Time will never be a place that we can travel to, sadly. Sorry to say, though it does make for interesting movies. Last edited by gonegahgah on 18-May-2022 at 05:07 AM.
