Which 10 Amiga Games on a Desert Island?

Cruising through the South Pacific, or the Caribbean, the ship you were on goes down. You are subsequently marooned on a small desert island. The radio in the raft's emergency kit is shattered, and your rescue could take years.

Before going down, in your life raft you packed some essential clothing, food, ans a solar-powered battery-backed guaranteed-to-work-for-25-years classic Amiga setup, and 10 Amiga games. Which 10 Amiga games would you pack?

In contrast to classic games, many modern games have very high levels of replayability. I'm trying to find out which of our beloved classic Amiga games have a high degree of replayability. Games which on each play are/can be different enough so as not to get quickly boring.

I would pack (in no particular order):
- Lemmings 2: The Tribes
- Birds of Prey
- Syndicate
- Frontier: Elite II
- PGA European Tour
- Worms: The Director's Cut
- Slam Tilt
- Dune II: The Battle for Arrakis
- Cannon Fodder
- The Settlers

How much would your list differ?

No time for games. I need the latest SDK, AuoDoc Viewer and CodePad. That will keep me happy.

Could not have said it better.

I would add the source to "Score", so I can finally finish it!!

I love it. Ask a very specific question, get an answer to a different one.

While I'd no doubt want to make sure I had development l tools (to make my own games if necessary), the question is about games. So...

Syndicate and Worms DC would definitely be on my list. I'd have to think about the other 8.There are so many great classics to choose from. Settlers and Dune are great examples.

Probably want to cover some other genres. AB3D 2 with the editing tools and source so that I can finally begin an RTG rewrite with nothing but time on my hands.

@agami

Nice selection.

I may add:
Civilization (this one never gets old...)
SimCity 2000
EyAngband (not much "classic" - last release is from 2003, but works well on "classic" hardware and replayability is high)
AMOS and PPaint/Dpaint (yeah, I'm cheating here. But sometimes creating my own games is most rewarding)

An original version of "The_Faery_Tale_Adventure"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Faery_Tale_Adventure
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5_4DhXWdwo

A game I always wanted to play through, a game that used Amiga's floppy DMA for continuous loading of maps in the background, something you couldn't do on any other computer in this period.

The Shadow Of The Third Moon
One of the late period voxel games using RTG
https://youtu.be/SGz7D20bxFU?t=259

Ultima Ultima is a must on early PCs like C64, Amiga or DOS
I was told Ultima IV is best for beginners, it could have been tuned more to use more Amiga specific features, but Ultima is always worth a look, if you have time for it.
https://tcrf.net/Ultima_IV_(Amiga)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZF90Z0CY6c

Universe
A late Amiga P&C Adventure I started playing on CD32 but never finished.
https://www.uvlist.net/game-18428-Universe
https://youtu.be/ZNLOjL_vwVc?t=404

Shadowgate
It was originally made for the Macintosh but the Amiga version looked good too.
These types of adventures demoed how good games can be using intuition / graphics.
I can only post a video of the Macintosh version, most people don't even know it was ported to the Amiga
https://youtu.be/OYmqVipkD4U?t=1126

And of course the typical games Amiga was famous for (even when there where ports to other platforms):
Alien Breed 3D, F16 Combat Pilot, Lemmings, Worms, Genetic Species, NemacIV...

Oh, but developing software IS a game, most definitely.
It's just a bit less structured than most other games.

:)

Well, maybe a good time to learn SDL.

@OneTimer1

No need, I'm very familiar with AHI, P96 and GCX development, as well as writing directly for custom chipset. What I lack is time. Oh, and hardware I'm not afraid to turn on any more,

@lylehaze

I don't think of it as a game, I think of it as an intersection between science, engineering and art. You can make a game out of aspects of it, e.g. golf scoring cycle optimisation and such, but you can't approach the whole thing that way if you want to actually get anything done.

Touche. However, at this apparent juncture of free time, I am posting via a mobile device, far from my computer(s) and casting a watchful eye over the antics of the kids.

Thanks for playing, Bill.

There's a couple of games on your list I haven't even heard of, and am now compelled to find out more about them.

My friends!
Such 10 games should have maximum replay value.

Hence, MEGA_RJ_MICAL'S choice would glad to be stranded with:

Player Manager
Hunter
Frontier
Powermonger
Simcity 2000

and I think this would suffice.
IN A DISPLAY OF MAGNIFICENT GENEROSITY I LEAVE THE OTHER 5 TO A FELLOW STRANDEE!!!
