Help me out here. If you buy a new Sam460LE you'll get OS4.1FE as part of the deal. But if you want to use more fancy sw you need a-eon's enhancer pack and if you want to use a high end gfx card you need the new radeon driver. This would be a 90eu +50eu extra I suppose?

You just need the Enhancer Software package. It includes the RadeonHD and RadeonRX drivers, the video-acceleration library, and Warp3D goodies. But, yes, it's an extra charge.

OS4.1FEfpr Sam460ex models includes the RadeonHD Lite version of the Radeon HD driver ,
Enhancer 2.2 includes the most current Radeon RX driver and hardware accelerated video decoder drivers for both RadeonRX and Radeon HD cards with Radeon HD driver 5.x .
The new Radeon HD driver V5.x supports hardware accelerated video decoding with Radeon HD graphics cards .
However the Radeon Rx decoding is much more advanced so a step down for what the Sam460ex models can actually support .

So the Enhancer pack has the latest Radeon drivers included. So why is the Radeon driver pack sold seperately?
Because Enhancer 2.2 only includes a RadeonHD 3.x driver. You need to get the version 5 driver if you want to enjoy the latest features on a Radeon HD card.
The cost for the development of the RadeonHD driver beyond the 3.x version is probably not recoverable with expected new sales or Enhancer 2.2 at this point.
So options would probably either be to offer the Radeon HD 5.x driver as a stand alone product or leave it unreleased until the next full advanced Enhancer version. So the version after the Enhancer 2.x versions.

The price for Enhancer 2.2 is £89.99 and OS4.1FE is about £25 so it works out about the same price 4.1 was until FE was released. For HD card users v3 driver is mostly sufficient and as far as I know the v5 driver only bring power management and hardware video decoding and likely a discount on Enhancer V54 when that's released. If hardware accelerated 3D and video decoding are not needed and an older card such as an HD6450 is used then the Radeon HD 1.7 driver can be downloaded from Amistore for £28 along with Enhancer Core Edition which is free.
