And while looking for my floppy/zip/cd collection I found my stash of scsi hard disks and a 3.1.4 rom ;) Last edited by erik on 27-Aug-2022 at 01:54 AM. Yes, nice sight! However does static from bedsheets not worry you? I'd be freaked out having just got it running! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Need to remove battery leads and solder in the coin cell RTC battery adapter and then it goes back in its case. Just wanted to make sure I could get a video signal.
The composite didn't work with the display I have, it's a PAL motherboard and the display did say PAL. Oh well, the Amiga Video to Components adapter works, and for now that's a better solution anyway. |

That purple kickstart screen fills me with joy like no computer before or since. |
Beloved friend Karlos,
do your graces really go toward that garish clownery that whispers "toy.... toy...." and anticipates the half baked, barren grey disaster that is Workbench 2.0,
rather than the austere, full bright white, reverence-inducing screen with the hand solemnly holding that floppy like a priest holds a holy host, as the drive lets his click be heard in the respectful silence, echoing visions of the blue wonders of Workbench 1.3 ?
Truly?

Truly. From the left-handed contortion of the Kickstart disk screen to the eye-stabbing horror of the blue and orange workbench, as amazing as the system was, the UX was truly, and unforgettably horrible.
I realise this may be a controversial view, but with 2.x, the system no longer looked like a toy. _________________ Doing stupid things for fun... |
