@PixelHi

This new price is for a bare board only. They must have spare components in the warehouse to use up.

@PixelHi

It is the only choice there is for the entry A1.

There are also no components on the board, what is making the price this high?

Amiga Tax, pixie dust transport costs, the cost of making a low volume niche product in a contracting market!

True, but Case, Radeon, Sata, SSD, Sound Blaster will add ~$200, so technically ~1200 euro, possibly less.

Exactly, nobody from outside of Amiga environment will by Sam460le, it is basically computer for old Amiga fans from the past.

I have BlizzardPPC with Os4.1 and emulated os4.1 on Ryzen 5600x, both are greatly limited comparing Sam460 running Os4.1.

None of this is directed to new users, maybe some retro computer geeks will buy it for the "experience".

They probably made (will make) few hundred of those, and that would be a lot IMO.

Well they're a stop gap before the 'mass production' of the summit of AmigaOne development; the A1222 Plus! And remember the X5000/40 was released recently on the sneaky sneak!

Do you gus have some suggestions for sound card for Sam460 that OS4.1 can work with well?

I'm looking to get Sound Blaster FX SB1570? Will it work "out of the box" or drivers are needed? Other on PCI maybe? I'm only looking at low profile card.

Also what would be best Sata card (PCI or/Pci-E)?

You can buy a new PC with Intel's Alder Lake 12900K for 1000€, which can emulate those machines better than the original.

Emulating a PS3 with Red Dead Redemption at 4K@60FPS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA8v34BGhAE

A PS3 has 3 x 3.2Ghz PowerPC cores (each one roughly equivalent to a 1.8Ghz G5).

You have mixed up your 3 X 3.2 Ghz PowerPC cores with the Xbox 360

PS3 has one PPE CPU core with SMT and 7 active SPEs, and NVIDIA RSX (GeForce 7900 "G71" shader cores like with GeForce 7600 "G73" 8 ROPS, DX9c class GPU). CPU has two PowerPC threads.

Xbox 360 has three PPE CPU cores with SMT, and ATI Xenos (48 unified shaders, 192-pixel co-processors with 10 MB EDRAM, 8 ROPS like DirectX12 Feature Level 12_1 ROV ROPS** and hardware tessellation, nearly DX10 class GPU). This console is big endian data formatted.
3X CPU core has six PowerPC threads.

** DirectX12 Feature Level 12_1's Rasterizer Ordered Views (ROVs) enable the underlying Order Independent Transparency (OIT) algorithms hardware to try to resolve the transparency order without wasting shader compute power.

According to the Amiga37 video feed this will be the last production of Sam460 boards. A special batch of the 460ex microprocessors had to be produced by the microprocessor manufacture for this production run.

Wow! It's like the planets aligned and a perfect 2022 AmigaOS solution was born clutching a new dawn from the ongoing A1222 delays!

@BigD

ACube are responsible for this last Sam460le motherboard production run , The initial A1222 production run of 200 motherboard run and the test run production of the Linux PowerPC Laptop motherboards. All three have a November 2022 timeline .

I don't see the need for sarcasm .
With the newer graphics cards drivers , RadeonHD V5 and RadeonRX , plus hardware decoding functions as well as the third party pciex1 sound card drivers the useful life of the Sam460 is extended . Especially the last production run with the dual slot graphics card redesign.
A-Eon get some more Enhancer users from this last Sam460le run also .

I happen to think that sarcasm is a very apt response to cynical opportunism.

@Spectre660

Thank you! I will test SB FX then, and I think I have PCI sata that should work and 5 different Radeon cards (just in case)!

Now, I hope ACube will deliver.

Ps. I literally missed Sam460 last time.[quote]

The Majority of the NXP QorIQ Powerpc family become end of life April 2027.
Only the T1023 and T1024 go up to 2029.
So only 7 more years of possible cynical opportunism left.

Eur 1300 well spent!

Now you are the proud owner of a pc that you could have emulated on 1 core of your other pc,
the one that also costs eur 1300 but has 16 cores, 32gb ram, terabytes of hdd etc. etc.

Only if you don't include these fine new robes I've weaved out of the most magically weightless and textureless thread. The ideal Christmas gift for individuals of the most discerning of taste. Only those with affluence, influence, and supreme intelligence can actually see the iridescent shimmer of the robes, and for mere plebs it is simply translucent.

They are designed to be worn over existing clothes as an overcoat, a cloak, or poncho.

The robes can be yours for just €‎999 + €‎149 for international shipping with insurance.

@MEGA_RJ_MICAL

How much? I payed about $1100. I only found 512 DDR stick in my junk box, so no 2gb, mine will have Radeon 8570.

Considering price of my Re-Amiga 1200 with Blizzard PPC 060/66 with 266Mhz PPC, BvisionPPC, Mediator TX, Indivision Mkiv, new white Elbox tower it's quite good.

My PC with 3800xt didn't want emulate it well, no gpu support, now 5600x doesn't do much better.

I would rather have real hardware. I never cared about emulation of Amiga. I will emulate Classic Mac on my A1200.

I truly don't understand why people are telling me how to spend my money?

Sam460le cost me about 15 streaks (with good potatoes).
