I would normally assume the silence after watching such a production is due to an appropriate sense of awe.

Just remember, this runs on a stock A500 with just 512K additional memory.

So true!

The feeling is like the end of The Dark Knight! Awesome!

Id already watched the video, and thought it was impressive for an OCS demo, and that's while under the assumption it was running an accelerated OCS machine.
Knowing now that its a stock 68000 machine changed my perspective from "damn, that's impressive" to "holy crap" (or to stick with the theme of the demo "holy hardest metal in the world Batman!").
Some of that 3d stuff is freaking crazy for a stock 7.14mhz 6800 system.

I loved the TBL reference at the end.

Hm, what have those idiot demo coders been up to now?! Where is Mario?!

On a more serious note... what impresses me most is how effortlessly it all appears, there are zero indications of this demo pushing the system to its limits, it just flows along along as if nothing. Also like the use of an original 80s Commodore Amiga logo at the end

@kolla

Imagine seeing that in 1985.

While I can certainly imagine it, it would be unrealistic to expect anyone to have familiarity enough with the nascent OCS in '85 to eke out this level of demo.

It would've still blown people away in '88.

Software and development tools evolve, chances are that software that was used to create this demo didn’t exist until quite recently.

@kolla

Of course. I believe some of the modelling and animation was done in blender, for example. Nevertheless, it's fun to imagine how people would've received a demo like this back in the hey dey. People were persuaded to buy the machine on the strength of the juggler demo alone and that was just fixed animation playback, even if it was ray traced.

You should watch again with the sound. Really nice soundtrack and very well synchronised.

@SHADES

I was astounded when I realised it was basically stock + 512K.
