It looks like the 'compatibility' issues with the RPi4/CM4 and Emu68 have already been solved! CM4 users will be 1st class Pistorm32 citizens!

I ordered a PiStorm32 Lite last week.
I’ve decided I’ll put it in the A1200 that currently has the V2 Apollo. I’ll be starting with a R Pi 4b 8GB, but I will later move to the PiStorm32 + CM4 2GB, and repurpose the 4b as a Linux device.

The CM4 would give you up to 2GB of Fast Ram on a Classic Amiga! I'll look forward to seeing if you can find a use that makes use of all of that!! We need a new Classic Web Browser with YouTube support me thinks!
1GB is enough for me. _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

AmiFox is a nice solution and very promising already. i do not think there will be ports of modern browsers to 68k platform. It is a huge task and needs constantly updating to make sense. |

Please get your CM4 2GB Lite order in if you don't own it already! The delivery date for my CM4 has just slipped from July to September! If China and Russia continue the way they're going I'll be lucky to get it by Christmas!

The CM4 adapter board designs for the Pistorm32 Lite are now on GitHub!
https://github.com/PiStorm
...anyone got any plans to build them? Last edited by BigD on 14-Mar-2023 at 01:13 PM.

Very seriously considering getting one of these now. I just ordered a capacitor kit for my 1200 so, i'll have a go at that first but then.............I think I will buy one. IT seems too good to be true but, on the chance that it is........
I really hope we get multi-core in (AMIGA OS flavor xyz) and user accounts at some stage.
I'd like to use AMIGA as a daily again. Even for just browsing the web/email documents etc. Currently, my phone costs less and does more. (PiStorm excluded) Last edited by SHADES on 16-Mar-2023 at 08:49 PM. Last edited by SHADES on 16-Mar-2023 at 08:48 PM.

Great! When you figure it out, please tell me where you'll source the CM4 adapter board, breakout board and cable etc! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Breakout board and cables? Where can I get info regarding these?
I'd like to make the entire kit, sans CM4 (ATM), available to prospective buyers.
Also, I ordered my CM4 from RAK Wireless. They didn't have any 2GB versions in stock so I spent the extra $20 and got the 4GB version.

"PiStorm32-lite: Assembly instructions of CM4 adapter published Claude Schwarz' PiStorm connects a Raspberry Pi to the CPU socket of an Amiga via an adapter and uses the British single-board computer to emulate a fast m68k processor. The lite version is supposed to take into account the current difficult situation....But for some time now, Emu68 developer Michal Schulz had been working on the development of an additional adapter that would allow the operation of a Compute Module 4 instead of a Raspberry Pi (amiga-news.de reported).
The work on the CM4 adapter and on adapting Emu68 to it is now complete, so Schulz has published the corresponding circuit diagrams and building instructions on GitHub.
The CM4 is basically a Raspberry Pi4 on an even smaller board without peripherals, which is intended more for industrial applications. Since the CM4 does not have the usual 40-pin header, it cannot be operated alone with the PiStorm. Schulz's CM4 adapter board is needed for this. Basically, the developer tells us, there are already many adapter boards for CM4 on the market, but they have a problem: they would fit together with the PiStorm32-lite, but would not have the right size to ultimately fit everything in the Amiga's expansion slot. There is a risk of overheating and short circuits.....His adapter board has a ribbon cable connection to which an IO card developed by Claude Schwarz (also to be released soon) can be connected, with which the relevant connections such as HDMI, Ethernet or USB can be routed out of the back of the A1200. This will reduce cable clutter. Finally, the CM4 adapter offers an NVMe slot. There is no driver for it yet, but in the future it will be possible to connect an NVMe hard drive." |

| @Storm32chasers
I'll put together an expression of interest website to see how many people are interested in getting a CM4 adapter board for PiStorm32 Lite.
My small batch manufacturing shop in Bosnia has quoted a cost for batches of 50 and 100 for the adapter board itself. I'll wait for @michalsc to release the breakout board spec to price the whole kit.
As you can imagine, there's not a large enough market to make a meaningful profit. Keeping the wheels turning for my team in Bosnia, and a portion of the profits contributed via Patreon to Michal for continued work on Emu68 is the aim.

As you can see above, the breakout board is Claude’s work, and isn’t really related to the CM4 project, it’s a “generic” breakout board for Raspberry Pi, also for those NOT using Michal’s CM4 board. It might take quite some time before Emu68 users will be able to make use of such an I/O board (aside from bootstarpping over ethernet, which is what Michal uses it for), while users of “original Pistorm concept” (linux+musashi) have use for them right away. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Good man! I believe AmigaStore.eu will look into commissioning batches too, so at least there'll be 2No. sources hopefully! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |
