AmiFox and AmiTube work together now using AREXX so it is now possible to access youtube and look a video. Platforms supported are 3.X, AROS 68k and AROS i3866. Screenshot is from AROS Vision (AROS 68k)

@nikosidis

thanx. Yes it is a good solution. Regarding calendar+clock I use Limpid Clock, It is a nice solution with clock, calendar and alarm

As you can see above, the breakout board is Claude’s work, and isn’t really related to the CM4 project, it’s a “generic” breakout board for Raspberry Pi, also for those NOT using Michal’s CM4 board. It might take quite some time before Emu68 users will be able to make use of such an I/O board (aside from bootstarpping over ethernet, which is what Michal uses it for), while users of “original Pistorm concept” (linux+musashi) have use for them right away.

Thanks for the additional info.

Claude is busy developing the HDMI pass-through functionality!

Thanks to all who donated on the PiStorm32-lite hardware repo. Just ordered from that donations a development kit, this will help me develop a native video pass-through adapter for the Pistorm32-lite, using the Pi camera input port :)

Thanks for the update.

My team has initiated a 50-unit run. I'll share photos once they're available.

How will they achieve it?

Same way Indy AGA does it.

@kolla

But indivision attaches itself to the chipset, not the case on pistorm.

As will this adapter, but instead of signal going to a screen connector (VGA, DVI, HDMI, whatever Indy does), the video signal is fed into the Pi's camera input port, where it can be "grabbed" by software running on the Pi, and be presented through the HDMI port of the Pi.

With the Pi running linux, this should be easy enough to accomplish, as the software for grabbing etc exists already, for Emu68 I imagine dedicated support software must be written for this to work. Or maybe there are some shortcuts that can be done in "firmware" (ie built into Emu68)

@kolla

the solution is already being worked on. Once ready it will use 0% CPU.

The IO board from Claude is not as generic as you think. it is using 40-pin FPC connector which is installed only on PiStorm32 (not on PiStorm32-lite) and on my CM4 adapter board. No Raspberry has this kind of connector.

Hope y’all are wearing your static discharge bracelets. With all this excitement the atmosphere is positively electric.

I see. Yes, I did indeed think it was the typical camera port of the pi (seemed obvious), thank you for the correction.

EDIT: Oh... the I/O board! (facepalm)

Well, my main point remains - for Linux+musashi software support already exists, for Emu68 it needs to be written. Right? :)

Yes, of course. The good thing is - all the drivers are pure M68k, just as is the VideoCore, or sdhc/emmc :)

@michalsc

But from what you've said earlier, without touching cpu, direct to metal.

@michalsc

Michał, but what about adding ArmUP-like subsystem for 2nd ARM core or taking Aros multicore to do 68k-multicore with two virtual 68k processors?

@rzookol

ARMUP-like is a no go in my book. I do not want to add yet another architecture to AmigaOS zoo of binaries. On the other hand there are plans to allow short Aarch64/VPU/QPU routines to be called.

For multicore - it would break binary compatibility (spin locks here and there) so it is of no use in this case.

Multicore hypervizor with emu68 and AmigaOS on one core and a linux kernel on the other(s) :)

I sort of hope that it will be possible to run Linux/m68k on a pi with emu68 one day, like as if the raspberry pi really was a 68k system.

@storm32chasers

This arrived today.
It's so TINY!
My 2010 MacBook Air had a lesser spec.
