A few questions:

1: Does the chip memory access issue adversely affect games in real life, so will games like Turrican II AGA, and Elite II still be playable? Does the developer think these issues can eventually be overcome?

2: What is Video playback like on PiStorm, Vampire has the AMMX instruction set which apparently helps, but PiStorm has much more raw performance, so does this translate into higher resolutions/FPS?

3: Most well thought out accelerators like Blizzard's, ACA's and TF's have disable fictionality so the Amiga can be returned to a stock configuration if required, does PiStorm implement this, or have they gone the Vampire and Warp team's approach of not caring?

4: Is there any plans for big box Amiga models being supported, A4000/A4000T, etc?

@Akiko

1. Alien Breed 3D is not crippled by this in AGA and still runs in a very consistent 32fps at 1x1 pixel version at full screen compared to 11fps on a 060 50mhz. I'm not sure whether the chip memory issue itself can be solved though.

2. Video playback should be possible at 720p no probs with the right software.

3. The disable function is present but also disables the Ram so that unless you've got PCMCIA Ram you won't have any fast ram to allow WHDLoad functionality!

4. Anythings possible but I would guess the CD32 would be the easiest to implement from the PiStorm32!

There’s really no need to disable the entire card, instead you switch to linux+musashi for CPU emulation, which gives you a lot more options in terms of both emulation and features.

@kolla

Really?

I think that is genius.

I have a Gotek as internal drive and it there are compatibility issues I disable Pistorm32 and run adf files from there.

JIT will never be 100% compatible with Games, scene prods. Neither will musashi and who really want to have 2 different CPU emulators if there is no easy way to switch between them.

That part is not so hard.

Not like 100% compatibility with all games and scene prods is there when using the real EC020 CPU either (or any real 68k CPU).

@thread

Can someone with the updated firmware (improved chip ram access) post updated SysSpeed results for their memory bandwidth?

@BigD

I'm frankly scared to even try powering on my A1200T at the moment. The thought of killing the motherboard, BlizzPPC and BVision is terrifying. I have another A1200 wedge, that as standard, is missing the upper RF shield and all case screws. I dread to think what state it's in these days. I used to use this one as a standalone midi translator (sometimes as a sequencer).
