Its a shame the poll doesn't allow more choices, missing choices are

More Software releases
More Gaming releases
AGA Alliance
Amiga Books
Future FPGA stuff, (Vampire V4 / Apollo improvements)
OpenOffice Os4
Browser update for OS4 / OS3
More Websites
More users on Forums / Forum updates
Kickstarter projects arrive ( Checkmate Monitor / books / etc )
Lawsuit / legal mess sorted
Wings OS4
Pancakes!

Anyway, basically what would you most like to see, both realistically, unrealistically and dream.

@amigang
So dream would be all the above happing but I think I would most like to see the legal mess sorted, secondary I like to see A-eon get there A1222 system out, as I feel OS4 market needs another win of some sort to keep it going, it real shame it been so delayed and price is unlikely to hit its target, part of me think kill the project and move to arm now, but I do understand the development, the legal mess, the huge problem with that and money/developers required to do such a task.

Next is more software development, Hollywood is a great example of a well developed software and I feel Amiga needs more of that. I mean I would like a browser update but again understand the issues.

But basically I think the Amiga scene did pretty well in 2022, shows seem to be getting bigger, it does feel like more games are coming out for the platform and more renew interest in the classic market. I would love if more interested translated to the next gen platform or did things that push the platform forward.

I mean I think part of the problem is the lack of goal / target where aiming for as market, other than just being a retro / hobbyist platform. Which is no bad thing, but it going to be a finite market / lifespan of largely just the people who remember and grew up with Amiga, it not going to get many new people involved or wanting to try it out. again, I feel might be fixed a bit if the legal mess was sorted out which is why its my no1 hope for the year.

The part of you that thinks A-EON should kill the project is wrong.

Firstly, A-EON pre-bought hundreds of CPUs that need using (or selling off and yes they'd make a healthy profit doing that).

Secondly and more importantly, all the heavy lifting porting OS4 and the drivers over the Tabor is done! Do you know how long these porting efforts take? Heck, they even support the onboard graphics chip and ethernet which is unheard of at the release of an AmigaOne machine!

Thirdly, does Hyperion have the will to port AmigaOS 4.x to another system at present e.g. the Open Source PPC Notebook never mind an Arm system if indeed that is allowed?

In conclusion, they MUST release it and those that can should support it but for the rest of us there is the PiStorm32 for 68k fun!

Thats why I did put at the end of that little rant, "I understand the development, the legal mess, the huge problem with that and money/developers required to do such a task."

Plus I 100% understand all the work, software, money thats gone in to support the PPC / Os4 market. the problem and elephant in the room is the fact that PPC development has all but stopped and is not cost effective for a small computer market

I wish and I guess everyone involved in the OS4 market wish this wasn't so, but it is. Now dont get me wrong for what apps, programs and use case we have on OS4, PPC is fast enough and if multicore support and more modern stuff like video and 3d graphics depend more on the GPU than the CPU, PPC chip in the X1000 / X5000 is likely all the power we need, but the price of entry is not really going to attract new users.

I have heard A-cube & A-eon might still make a PPC laptop. (actually a board on the open PPC laptop been made recently https://www.powerpc-notebook.org/2022/12/prototypes-produced-lets-go-on-hardware-tests/ )

But to me, the only way to grow maybe OS4 is to with move off PPC (so basically maybe not even bother with OS4 let its be thge PPC OS), and have AmigaOS5 be Arm based.

Or if PPC is the only option/route then a new PPC card for classic Amiga to get more of the retro community to try out OS4.

They could also develop a OS4 PPC emulator for Pi system maybe, as I did ask the PiStorm guy if it could be used to simulate PPC instead of 680xx, he said technical point of view yes, just software is needed. Plus then you would get sales of OS4 on Pi and a cheap way for old Amiga to upgrade to PPC via Pistorm. Pi4 can emulate roughly G4 PPC at 800mhz, so maybe this is another route to add users.

ARM is probably more compatible to PPC than the P1022 CPU ever was.

Not choosing from the list but how about

PiStorm32 / equivalents for all classic models.

OS4 decoupled from PPC. ARM versions for all those pistorm machines. Or even just vanilla 68K for the same.
MorphOS x64 and/or ARM.

Well, one can dream.

I want to see an official and public bug tracker for OS3 development, where bugs are tagged with which OS release they are expected to be addressed.

UEFI for Amiga X1000 (so recent graphics cards can be used) and Libre Office for OS4.

It would also be the end of A-EON PPC hardware and there is no Arm solution on the horizon. It would be the end of the AmigaOne project. Trevor is not willing to throw in the towel yet! The problem is that Hyperion HAVE lost interest and will not sell out to A-EON for a reasonable amount it seems.

A500 "Maxi".

Second place: AmigaOS 3.3, but not from Hyperion.
