Ok, I've confirmed it happens when I use the back button. But it doesn't happen in all forums, for instance, this one.

[edit]

Alright, so it does happen in all forums.

[/edit]

This is a common thing (which is why people are advised not to click back when making transactions) as the submitted "form" is resubmitted - resulting in the double post.

Not sure if the CMS we use has any features to prevent a double post when clicking "back" in the browser (it is unfortunately very very old and long in the tooth now - as well as being unsupported).

@_Steve_

I was able to do it here before I took a short break from here. I wonder what changed so that it is happening now.

Perhaps more a curiosity than a bug but all request for pages seem to return an ERROR 500 with the page content in the error report!

I noticed this when using the URL as a test for separate HTTP client but verified it witrh AWebs HTTPDEBUG option

@number6

Some longstanding xoops issues have been addressed, thanks to our Sibbi.

See following post for illustration of how it was:

3 issues concerning "news"

You should now get lists for "more news about (category)" and
"More news from (submitter/nickname)"
In addition the "news" link at top of AW homepage should provide a clickable list by date.
Results are shown at bottom of page in all 3 cases after clicking on an archive.

Please report any issues with those 3 fixes.

Search speed has increased and a major rewrite for AW search (left side front page) can be seen here:
https://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/search.php

Additional fields:
Forum
Sort by
Search in
Results

Prior to this change if you typed in a common keyword, you would get a single page of results but not -all- results. Now you can page through the complete search results.
The other additional fields allow you to customize your search results.

"News" search remains top of front page:
https://amigaworld.net/search.php

There are many changes since a month ago (see above post for example), so please report any issues you are having in this thread.

@sibbi

As some already found there is "dbl-post" bug. If one do "edit" his post now, then instead of edit original post, it create another one, with edited info. Check for example my "vim" news : there i just tried to edit 4st post, and it create 5st one after edit. Then i tried to edit 5st post to some "dbl-post" body, and it instead create 6st post.

edit: that post i can edit without creating new one, but in "vim" news can't. Also you can see there is other "double-posts" from others as well.

Another bug is showing relating to SSL and the need to encrypt sites now. Firefox is complaining the site is not secure with images and such. And now wouldn't let me through as the security certificate is expired.

Bug with dbl-posting aftet editing still here. Check "gl4es round 2" thread, you can see there both Petrol and me meet with that bug. Dunno what browser he use, but for me it was Chrome, so not odyssey or amiga related, but general issue with site

Maybe its related when edited post is big enough ? Because in that thread, it seems works when i edit that post, but any editing of big posts in other thread, create new posts instead of editing original

Don't know if this is known about. But trying to post a reply to a comment in the news section results in error about not being allowed to edit a post.

Just as well I copied my post into the clipboard. Or it would have been lost! I was able to post a new comment normally.

@Hypex

Yep, had the same problem. Assumed A-EON had stopped me posting disappointment at the Tabor delay

Why would posting a brand new comment act differently?

I don't know how, but somehow I only came across this last night. Or noticed it. It's rather bizarre as "textually" posting a new comment is no different to a reply. Both have blank text in an editor that needs to be filled in.

@All
Seems that old problem again back when you can't submit an reply 3 of 4 times with words "Access Denied! Your ip address blblabla" . Happens for me (russia), and for mufa (poland) at least.

Top Friend David Doyle,

I would like to report that it is now impossible, at least for me, MEGA_RJ_MICAL, to post comments in the Gallery section!

Neither Preview nor Post Comment will work, in the first case simply resetting the post textbox to an empty, truly desolated and depressing state.

In the second case, and this actually provides quite a bit of entertainment, we are redirected to a page that is supposed to show the image updated with my brand new precious comment, but is instead empty other for a line that says "Last Update: 1-Jan-1970".

January the 1st 1970! I can picture the celebrations: the thick sideburns, the handlebar mustaches, the bell bottom jeans swinging crazily on the dance floor as the fireworks salute the new decade!

But back to my point, I can't seem to be able to post my comment.
There are so many pictures that are waiting for a solemn ZORRAM to be stamped on the bottom of their page.

Please help.

Best Regards,
MEGA_RJ_MICAL

Hey amigaworld team! There's a slight oversight on the sanitization of your user input, as you can use "" (htlmtag/onload=, in the case this does get rendered and is not visible.) and other html -> JavaScript payloads on the site. I'm not sure which all inputs this concerns, but as you might've seen from my () cursive name it's atleast present on the very least when registering new users.

As the forum is quite old, and doesn't get much traffic, it's nothing major but perhaps one would want to Iron it out.

-Peter.
