Hi!

After I am at a "late Beta" now for my AmigaOS port of Dungeonkeeper/keeperfx I also did a port on AROS 64 Bit (32 Bit not done, theoretically easily doable though, but that would be a question on how interested people are still in that, right now I did only a AROS 64 Bit version).

If you do not know the game, it is basically a RTS, but in 3D engine. You play as a lord of a dungeon (the evil wizard or such) and have to defend your dungeon against those heroes and stuff. It was a commercial game by Bullfrog.

A video of the AmigaOS port (running on an AmigaOne x5000) is seen here (this video still has the Turbo Imp Bug, in meantime fixed ^^): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9X9w1tXu590

The AROS 64 Bit version runs on my i7 at 130 fps in 1024x768 (Game Logic of course still runs at 20 fps as intended - especially after the Turbo Imp Bug has been fixed and those Imps no longer run at 40 fps ^^).

There will be an installer to comfortably install the files needed on your machine (working on the installer right now). Installer requires that you have something like Commodore Installer or InstallerLG or InstallerNG installed.

If you like the game and it is worth a donation by PayPal to tirionareonwe@gmail.com you can get the Beta version.

Final version will be a free download though (you still need the commercial data, which is 3 EUR on Gog).

@OneTimer1

Always appreciated. I am currently working on the Installer for AROS64 actually so AROS users do not have to manually install the various datafiles but it is same like for AmigaOS to get easily installed.

And this is also a test balloon how much AROS users are willing to pay for additional gaming stuff ^^

@MagicSN

If you need a standard installer, InstallerLG is also available for AROS 64-bit; you can find it on the AROS archive (see link), or it is pre-installed on AROS One 64-bit:

@AMIGASYSTEM

yeah aros one is what i use as aros distribution. i just tested the installer with installerng. only issue is the user does not notice something happens on depacking the zip files from keeperfx data and might think it hangs but he just needs to wait.

do you have a aros64 ffmpeg? i wohl ld need this for music, speech samples and videos to be automatically converted to Installation but i could only find 32 bit version of it. thanks.

@MagicSN

There’s no 64-bit version of FFmpeg; try asking on Arosworld to see if anyone can compile it!

@AMIGASYSTEM

Ok just did so.

In worst case it runs without music, intros and speech output. They are kind of optional. Or people need to convert on a different platform.

I am adding a version for AROS 32 Bit.

Beta -> same conditions, who donates some money to PayPal tirionareonwe@gmail.com gets access to the Beta versions.

For 32 Bit there will also be a Startup GUI added (same for AmigaOS4 and AmigaOS3.x).

32 Bit AROS version is still untested, but I think it will work
