| Sorry. I couldn't wait any more. I broke down today and bought and assembled a....P.C.! Yes, I am now running Windows. DAMN it's slow! I mean really really really really SLOW! Linux and Mozilla on the AONE is SO much faster than this supposedly much faster CPU running MS IE. OTOH, it works! Flash and real and all that jazz, and, again sorry, I needed something that works. When AOS4 is finished, I'll junk this cheap thing, but be aware that I am now demonically posessed and probably have lots of unmentional viruses that you could get by engaguing in social intercourse with me. Plus, I am now a security risk.

The solution to your x86 blues is called Linux! Suse Linux 9.1 personal edition is free and runs fast on my... P.p...p..packard bell Pentium II 400Mhz thing. I run it coz its DEAD SILENT ! _________________
If you play a Linux DVD backwards you can clearly see a cool place with penguins. If you play it forwards, it will install the greatest operating system available for your PC computer! |

In an effort to minimise the spread of your self-induced contamination, would you be so kind as to wear latex rubber gloves when typing posts to this forum. That way we at least reduce the risk of infection.

Don't worry check out www.aros-exec.org I downloaded the os and ran it off a CD really cool and fast mmm, will have to get a partition and install it as a bootable partition check out some of the demos really fast
I was so impressed.

According to a German PC mag is lasts about 20 minutes for a new Win-PC user to be infected by 1 or more virii (when online of course)

Thanks for your expressions of sympathy in this sorrowful time. Also, thanks for the LINUX and Firebird advice. I'm looking into both of those things (One of my problems with AONE linux being: If it worked with G4, it didn't work with Debian; if it worked with Debian, it didn't work with G4. Was I the only one getting that?)
...And no, I won't be sorry when the update comes out. When FINAL comes out, I'm selling this thing (To my ex-, so I can screw it up as much as possible before then) and getting back into fast and reliable computing! _________________
