Hi!

I've uploaded a beta of ScummVM 0.6.1b to OS4depot. If you want to download it, please make sure to read the warnings in the README, about the crash potential.

Note that the port is mostly feature-free, based on the SDL backend. Since SDL is work in progress, expect oddities.

@Rogue

What does OS4 SDL currently support? Is it enough to port most 2D games? Is there support for freetype?

You can use most addons to SDL, like SDL_ttf, SDL_image and SDL_mixer. A lot of these will come precompiled as contributions to the next SDK, including SDL itself. There's still some quirks, but it already performs quite decently.

@FuZion

I've added many games but I've found some problems on my OS4 Pre (without update.. sigh.. :( )

1) It is veeeery slow
2) There is a problem with mouse. I see on screen the classic lucas cross, the OS4 pointer and a scratchy dirty rectangular sprite above cursors
3) When loading Monkey Island presentation a Guru appears (ISI). Afrter a kill of the process the SCUMM working yet but it was instable
4) I hear no sound.. :(

Thank you!

That's because of the non-native Picasso96. The blitter functions are emulated, therefore its a bit, eh, slow.

That's on the Radeon, right? The old driver had a problem with null-sied mouse pointers.

Which Monkey Island is that?

That should definitely work... Maybe this is an issue with the pre-release

So with the OS4 update the problems should be all resolved!

Playing the games here is fine (Pre release without the update on a G4-XE @ 800Mhz) but multi tasking is virtually ruled out. Even using scaled GFX it runs smoothly.

As Rogue mentioned. This is an old problem with the Radeon drivers.

I haven't tried any of the Monkey Island games yet.

The sound works great here. Have a look at the sound options in Scumm, see how their set up. Although the default settings are what worked on my system.

Beneath A Steel Sky (downloaded form www.scummvm.org) works perfectly. Monkey Island 2 (italian/cd) crash after inserting the protection code.

Same here. Both the Amiga & PC versions crach after the code protection then the game mode is selected (Normal or Easy).

My Day of the Tentacle isn't found either. It worked with other Scumm's I've used.

I don't have Day of the Tentacle unfortunately. The self-running demo works. I've tried Broken Sword, Beneath a steel sky, and the "The Dig" demo successfully.

It finds my DOTT ok and runs it great right up until the intros are over. When it's time to start looking for Dr Fred I get the Reaper.

all the games works here but they bomb randomly and the speed is damn nice compared to older scummVM's.

Monkey island 3 is fast along with full anims support in full speed...whoopy ....but shame it bombs as much as it do.....
