well first i think we should have an Official gui + an official mplayer and not a dirty preview.

I understand the point you are trying to make but I think the visability as soon as possible is more important. Besides, we can always sumbit another screen capture once a more complete GUI is completed. There are multiple shots of each OS available.

Could you provide source code that allows to reproduce the problem?

Stephan,

I've put together an archive of the source and 3 versions of the executable (one compiled by Sas, one by GCC from the first pre-release SDK, and one compiled using the default SDK from the first update.

The first two versions give the GrimReaper, but selecting "Ignore Errors" lets the program continue without any apparent problems. The third gets a GrimReaper and then ceases to work.

The lha file is about 248k in length. If you want, send an email to me

dmckinstry@mail.ewu.edu

telling me the email address you want the file sent to, and I'll send you an attachment.

@afxgroup

Thanks for porting this. As I'm a DIVX, XVID collector of series I'm really happy with this player already. They all work.

OS 4 is getting more usefull with the week.

@afxgroup

I`ve just tried an mpg "OS4-W3D_DecentFS.mpeg" and it played quite sluggish
compared to amp2 and the sound had a repeating thud as well as what was expected but no crash.

Thanks for your work so far.

Also i use video output=cgx_wpa::TINYBORDER.

Whats the reason for the different types of video vmem-wpa.
Is it radeons asgainst voodoos?

@afxgroup

playing mp3 files with "-au null" hogs the cpu terribly

Jack.

Edit:
oops, it's "-ao"

And when playing directory containing mp3 using "*" wildcard: the idtags and status line are displayed for the first file only .

@Deniil715

Any chance you can fix mplayer-gui so it checks the wbstart message - and throws the filename in the filename field? I'd like to make mplayer-gui the default player for various filetypes and that would make it easier.

While you're at it, you couldn't add a load of options to enable playing with AMP2 and MooVid as well, could you? That way we have one über-GUI for all video playage. (and I realise the answer is probably "f*** off")

Chris

I played a lot of mpegs.... after half an hour i got a crash.. system totally freeze. It seems to be not the mpeg file, because then i played it correctly. It happens randomly.

@ALL

I've uploaded a new version of Mplayer (sorry for $VER equal to the previous version..)

Now there are:

1) Libmpeg2 updated to the last cvs
2) More other libs taken from the last cvs
3) The DVDs should work:
try with:

Mplayer -framedrop -dvd-device a1ide.device:x dvd://1

where x is the DVD-ROM and 1 is the chapter of DVD (sorry for "insert DVD in any drive" annoying message). Remember to use -framedrop option!

Warning. I have try to use the GUI with dvd but doesn't work. If someone wants to try it..

Many bugs fixed..
The net is NOT working!

Please try it and report all the bugs/problem with it!!

Bye!
Andrea

Some mpegs produce a Grim Reaper here. I start the MPlayer from DOpus. GR reports stack pointer being out of bounds - maybe it is a low stack problem (mine is set to 500000, though)?

I also noticed crash usually happens if I play several mpeg files in a row. After reboot I can play the crashing mpeg without probs.

Machine used: A1-XE G4 800 MHz, OS4PR+Pre-Update 2, 512 MB RAM, Radeon 7000, DMA on (with SiL card).

But these crashes are quite rare - most of the time Mplayer works like a charm

edit: These were with previous MPlayer version, I'll download the new version asap!
