Amigaworld.net News   Amigaworld.net News : New version of Remote Desktop for AmigaOS 3.x 68k in Development!
posted by HammerD on 23-Mar-2021 18:06:43 (995 reads)
I am happy to announce that a new version of Remote Desktop for AmigaOS 3.x (68k) is in development!  This version will be based on the latest MorphOS port and it will include most of the features of the newer MorphOS port including Windows 10 support, a properly functioning mouse pointer/cursor, audio re-direction, clipboard support, and more.

Although the final version will be free, donations will of course help.  You can donate any amount small or large using the Donate button on http://www.hd-zone.com. All donations will be sent directly to the developer.

A beta version is already running so hopefully it will not take too long for a release version - donations will speed up this process!  Thank you to everyone who has donated in the past and for your continued support of the Amiga and the community!

Just an update to this:

We are now in release candidate stage. The new version is now tested to work on AmigaOS 3.x on Amithlon, a real Amiga 4000, and on a Vampire equipped A2000.

Speed is highly dependent on your local LAN connection speed. On Amithlon with 100Mbit network it is noticably faster than a 10Mbit connection on the Vampire. But speeds on Vampire are more than acceptable. Also speeds on 060 are Ok - better or faster than the previous version.

Audio re-direction is working so you can listen to sound from the Windows PC and hear it on your Amiga.

A few bugs to work on still but progress is good.
