Sorry about my fury about my pic, anyways the pic seen for call to power could be real, as he may of self implemented the layout and rendering, which wouldn`t be to hard to do. But my guess would be it has not official use of the source code and is 0.000001% completed if that. Years ago i want to do a conversion of Civilization II, and i was able to get to a pic like his using blitz basic, but it had no official core source code at all.
But then again could be just a lamer with an early april fools.

@TheAMIgaOne

I realize you have apoligized for the outburst, so could you please edit your first post. No need to call names. I think it's better if you send Samo a PM message to settle any differences.

No offense intended and I apologise for the bad graphics but I only had five minutes to port Doom 3 to OS4:

gadget master: before you start screwin around.., check his window and grab closely..

you will notice that his border/frame + fonts are matched as with the real os4 atm , your doom3 joke you can see it easy that it aint real..., sorry :)

anyway i dont know for sure if ctp2 is real or not, but i know 1 thing and that is, the source is free and its not that hard to port unlike other games free'd out there like AVSP,ROTT,FREESPACE2 etc..

cheers and i hope we can get this news confirmed soon...

As has been pointed out, the text on the window border breaks the illusion However, it's a matter of 5 minutes to create pixel perfect hoaxes.

I hope CTP2 is for real. Anyone on OS4 mailing list to provide proof?

Calm down ppl, it's weird, because noone gives official news about it. Doesn't it sound strange?
C'mon..
I'd really appreciate a porting of that kickass game though.
Love civ.

AmigaOne needs games like that one.

Did, when Doom, Heretic I,... were ported the first comment read "it might be fake" ? Nooo... I think it is
quite typical for the state of the market (sadly) that
people do not believe anymore anything they cannot try out themselves. This was not always like this.

Just an obervation I made for some way in the past
now...

@Toaks

Hey! I made it clear it was a bad joke. It was never meant to be a perfect hoax. Plus I apologised in advance

I wish, as much as anybody else, that the news is true, as I pointed out in my earlier post the source code is available, so the possibility exists.

Exactly my point. Some years earlier if such a screenshot appeared people would not only take it
as a "possibility until proven", but as the real thing.

I do not really think there is a point in creating a hoax over a port of a game which is opensource and CAN be ported... :)

ohwell i hope that people will change this attitude over time, though here at amigaworld it aint as bizarre as on ANN(on).lu.

There has been too much successful hoaxes recently (T-Shirts delivered, Mozilla ported, etc.), not to mention the general attitude of the community is changing as there is I dare to say NO absolutely credible source around these days.

Every new port reaching this community is a good thing tm, so I wish it's not a fake. Do you have information proving it to be original? As he obviously has OS4 beta (since he porting the game), is he in contact with Hyperion or the other developers?

This is of course all true, still it is a shame... the Amiga Community was MUCH more positive days past... I still miss those days...

Sorry, I do not know more either...

Actually Max Payne is being ported too:

Picture link - (Edited MikeB)

(This pic was on the net for quite some time now)

It seems they want to do the port for Amiga Walker machines first.

@Doctorb

Would you change that [img] link to an [url] link, or resize the picture to 500 pixels or less, per
Amigaworld.net posting guidelines. Thank you.
