@ jahc

That's your opinion and I think you should be flexable enough to acknowledge that other people don't need to think the exact way as you do. I had a couple of friends over and they laughed about what I had written and agreed even with the message, so different people do have different opinions.

Anyway I am sorry that I apparently misjudged the situation. But the state of this "community" does increasingly leave me with a bad taste with regard to its OS wars, propaganda and lack of enjoyment/humor. It's a hobby for me for god's sake, IMO it should be fun instead of having to watch your toes every second. AmigaWorld.net seemed to be an exception within the community, but maybe due to the delays and the influx of certain AROS/MOS advocates (probably due to the increased popularity) the enthusiasm does seem to have slowly died out a little and made room for negative attitudes and behaviour. I really hope we won't see AW turn into yet another flame hell forum we don't lack within this community.

@ MikeB

Why are so jaundiced? I only wrote 4 words. Nothing bad about Amiga. But I know if I had written something negative it would be deleted like many other posts here [not from me but it is a well known fact]. No wonder that AW.net is known as a nonserious site.

BTW: Why I dont post this news on my page? Well, thats the job of amiga-news.de and we take only a small number of pegasos related news. But this shouldn´t be your problem.

I most certainly wasn't negatively minded when I wrote my first message, this came after I read the IMO overheated reactions.

Did I say that?

False propaganda IMO, spoken as a true MOS warrior, AW.net is probably the least moderated Amiga forum of the four most popular Amiga web forums when measured over the years. (amiga-news.de, AO, ANN) Personally I did not feel the need to moderate anyone for months despite an increase of trolls. I have seen a few thread locks and edits done on repetitive trolls by other staff members, but IMO nothing to write home about, although I have seen someone nag about a thread title change at another forum LOL, meanwhile I have seen far more moderations done at especially amiga-news.de and ANN.

However your behaviour leaves me even more convinced that MOS and AOS should be seperated as much as possible (we already have ANN and AO war grounds, don't we?). I would probably have felt somewhat ashamed if I went onto your forum to tell people how an emulated app runs well on AmigaOS4 or to attack your website, especially because I help out with a dedicated rival website like you do. However it seems lots of people simply do not know any shame.

I don't agree or at least it's most certainly not the job of AmigaWorld.net to inform about a rival platform. MOS dedicated discussions are unsurprisingly discouraged here at AmigaWorld.

@MikeB, DJBase, err well @ALL

Let's get this topic back to DiskMaster shall we. I'm sure Rudolph Riedel would rather come here and read comments about his software than what is currently going on. You can move your current discussion to PM's or to a forum thread if you wish. But any further messages about your OT discussion in this news item will be removed. (Sorry Coder)

/Björn

Would it be possible to get a couple of screenshots of it running?

Point taken, but I saw it as a snide remark rather than humour (think wrongpla.net)

Anyway, all's well that ends well!

I have never understood certain people's tendancy to read the worst possible interpretation into something and think it is the only interpretation available. That sort of thing never ceases to flabberghast me about society.

(This is not meant as a personal attack on Ian S, BTW. )
