News   News : Amiga Club members receive T-shirts
posted by MikeB on 17-Jan-2005 15:23:54 (7173 reads)
Official announcement here.

Many people who joined the ?I am Amiga Club? in 2002 report that (after a period of well known financial difficulties surrounding Amiga Inc, before the recent takeover by KMOS Inc) these members have finally received their long delayed club shirts from Amiga Inc.

Update: HMetal pointed out that Amiga has now officially acknowledged that the T-shirts are shipping:

Quote:
(17-Jan-2005) Amiga is happy to announce the long awaited t-shirts have shipped and should be arriving as you read this message. Garry Hare, CEO of KMOS and Amiga, said, "It's about time, isn't it?"

Prior to shipping Amiga Inc. constructed as accurate a mailing list as possible.

Happy New Year - The Amiga Team

A tent???

no slightly larger than that!

He he it is BIG... but better that way that at least everyone who gets one can fit inside...

... and set up a camp bed... small gas stove etc.

Edit - thanks to KMOS/Amiga Inc. for getting this done.

So Garry is CEO of Amiga then?

I might be tempted to support Amiga if McEwen and Moss are out of the picture, although I would still prefer an apology for their behaviour.

if McEwen and Moss are out of the picture,
when it was first announced that they had been hired, i humorously suggested it was to clean the windows and sweep the floors and toilets.
(well, I thought it was funny!)

Since they have been muzzled, I really don't care what they do or where they are.

The most important point is that it appears that a professional, competant person is in charge.

for example, I am refering to this from the site:

"Prior to shipping Amiga Inc. constructed as accurate a mailing list as possible."

I figured if anything was taking time it was this. It sure doesn't seem slip-shod.
and - NO ADVANCE NOTICE. the shirts arrived FAIT ACCOMPLI

as someone who's sick and tired of spin and bs, this is such a breath of fresh air.

Don't forget, nothing to do with AmigaOne/OS4 has come about recently because of KMOS. All the good things that are happening with OS4 and AmigaOne were started by Bill McEwen, Fleecy, Amiga Inc, Eyetech and Hyperion.
I am fed up of these guys constantly getting stick - when they were big enough to LISTEN to us guys and reverse the DE only roadmap of 2000 onwards and give us classic AmigaOS on PPC to the best of their abilities. (And probably against the better judgement/intent of their investors at the time.

I for one am sick of this 'hate figure' mentality and I thought most people around the Amiga scene are old enough and wise enough agree with this.

i never knew anything about Fleecy - except his silly name. I've never even read his "interviews" which I assume are still posted here somewhere. his name is just coupled with BM like Martin and Lewis.

anyway, I personally think Bill M has suffered enough (somewhere I heard he had to take out a couple of morgages on his house). Ouch!
My only point is that being quiet is a good thing.

I was never loyal to anyone person. I had an amiga when commodore still "owned" it. when they bailed, I figured my amiga was orphaned and ceased to think of any company as important.

Anyway, I only judge actions - NOT words.
which was really my main point in all this.

garry hare is certainly not my buddy, but he hasn't done anything to embarrass himself - and I'm thankful for that!

Well, I saw fleecy at the Bath show last year - like all the guys at Amiga Inc they are commited and passionate about the Amiga.

I know some things happened that shouldn't - I just ask that people keep their perspective and realise that they also achieved a lot of things.

As for Bill - he must have gone through a couple of years of hell that noone deserves.

I just got my uA1-c and then my T-shirt turns up out of the blue! This year is starting to look as if it will be very good - I hope it's good for everyone involved with Amiga and that goes for you too!

Wow, I've got mine as well, just in time for my birthday. Also for years my wife has been having a dig about T-shirts every time I mention Amiga. I'm just waiting to see her face when she gets home tonight

I got mine on, and it's quite nice. Good that this footnote is now settled.

(Reminds me, that I should really get myself a new Amiga and start developing on that again. If only the days were longer!)

Sincerely a happy
John

Well, just to report that the Amiga T-Shirts have reached Scotland - I got mine an hour ago! Glad to see that KMOS have delivered, maybe this'll shut up all anti-KMOS / anti-Amiga Inc. guys for a while :)

For some more pretty (and rather similar) pics of the T-Shirt, including a closeup of the return address label, have a look here on my website. To see the rest of my website (should you wish to), click the 'MyContent' logo to return to the home page.

From a happy and rather cold (it's snowing) Scotland,
Donald
