Its just as infuriating for me.. Im waiting for the guy whos written the article to say "okay you can publish it" but so far no luck...

On a similar topic if anyone out there fancies writing an article about anything relating to OS4 and or the AmigaOne please do feel free to get in touch with me.

@ All

It seems some people don't understand what are kickstart modules (also called kmods). Then please read article Using the Boot configurations on IntuitionBase.com

OS4 SFS is a kmod, so it you don't find a kmod in a released SFS archive, it means that there's no stuff for your OS4.

bye

Shift left click works, but the archive is empty (0 files).

Good doc! (I wonder, should I put the filesystem in the RDB? )

I have a question about the .recycled directory: if I delete two files with the same filename, what happens? also, is there some way to merge/integrate this directory with the workbench trashcan?

id imagine the latter file would overwrite the old file in .recycled...

As for the merge idea not to my knowledge.. I guess you could give it a trashcan icon but that would be about as far as it would go i think.

The 1st will be stored as .recycled/filename, the 2nd as .recycled/filename$AAA, 3rd .recycled/filename$AAB, ....

Simply rename .recycled to Trashcan, or do you want something else?

If you rename it from .recycled to Trashcan, how will SFS know to use that particular directory? (or is there something else special about the .recycled directory?)

It's a special directory, the name doesn't matter. You can rename it as foo/bar/trash and it will still work. But you can not delete it, if you don't want it you have to format the partition with "SFSFormat NORECYCLED ...", nor can you add it to a partition which was formatted with the NORECYCLED option. And you can't use it as "Trashcan" either as I forgot that there is another limit which makes that impossible: SFS doesn't allow to create objects in the ".recycled" directory, you can only read them, delete them and rename them out of ".recycled", but you can not rename anything into it.

BTW: Most of that, if not all, should be mentioned in the SFS documentation (SFS.guide in the Aminet SFS 1.230 archive).
