@ Fransexy

IMO there's no need for such trolling within this thread. Fleecy and the whole AmigaOS4 team have done a lot of effort to answer user questions to the best of their ability in those Q&As.

As has been made clear they were never intended to be set in stone as being a replacement for the 'Ten Commandments', but instead an effort to enhance communication with the community.

sorry, i don´t want to be a troll.
what I mean is that I hope that IRC session will be plenty of facts insteand of utopic concepts like those of flecy moss.
I do not doubt that he put all its effort in the Q&A, more of that he gives me respect, after all it did everything what was in its hand but I insist that he talk more about future utopic concepts that of the reality in which they were working.
Of course, this is my personal impression; I am a human and can be mistaken...... or not

I have to admit that I never read the FAQ's from fleecy. (what the heck kind of name is "fleecy", anyway??)

however, what's wrong with speculating? after all, the best way to see if an idea works is to talk about it - at least first.

and if people are ridiculed for presenting ideas because they sound silly, they will be inhibited. and isn't it more important to generate ideas - however dumb - than have NONE?

in other words, don't make fun of this fellow with the odd name because some of his ideas sound flaky.

make fun of the ideas that are silly, but not the effort in coming up with the ideas.

the more ideas people have, the greater the chance for at least ONE of these ideas to being good. and we need all the good ideas we can get our hands on.

OK, IMO the first step would be to address Fleecy with his real nickname instead of 'flecy' or 'fleccy' as is often popular amongst trolls.

I guess that would also depend on the questions asked. When asked about future plans, IMO an answer would either be dodged or plans will be shared and as is the case with any future plan, they can change in course of time, can be too complex and baffling for the average person to understand or people may have completely different points of views. IMO it's simply impossible to gain a 100% approval rating on any issue within the Amiga community!

Just because an end user makes a comment that is not all smilies and dancing bananas does NOT make him a Troll.

I think we can all agree at this point that the Fleecy questions were rather silly and totally useless - though an admirable attempt by this site to interface community and company. Its just that Fleecy was full of big words with shallow content and talked about things that were not happening nor will happen. (as evidenced by collapse of Ainc)

Now, on to the topic I think its very cool that you guys got Mr. Hare to do the irc session. That is very good and lets hope there is good tidings.

cheers

I did not claim otherwise. However IMO Fleecy bashing doesn't belong within this thread.

I am sure you are mistaken. First of all Fleecy together with the great help from the AmigaOS4 development team answered *factually* and *informatively* to many user questions. The 28 sessions which included 280 website user questions and their answers demonstrates that many did not view these sessions as being just silly.

In fact after being discontinued there have been long and repetitive threads which called for its continuation, IMO a clear testimony that not everyone considered them to be as "silly" and "useless" as was mainly the general view within rival camps.

I do think Amiga Inc. did things not that ok to say the least. But what I like about Fleecy is that if you mail him he is at home. Always a respond. I certainly hope Fleecy or Bill would like to do a IRC session in the future.

I don't agree either. I was one of the people that had a question answered by Fleecy and it sure meant a great deal to me that a member of Amiga Inc. would be willing to take the time to answer questions and also the fact this site was willing to provide a forum for it. No one was forced to read it.

Sure there were limits to what could be answered but that is far better than stone cold silence IMO.

Rumors start either way, silence or monthly answers and I'll always "vote" for regular contact over silence any day. That way I can ignore the trolls and FUD by reading the information myself. I hope we can get it back or some variation thereof.

Well why dont you guys look back at those Q+A with Fleecy and see what has become of it? Amiga inc died and sold to Kmos - nothing has happened since then. ONly HYPERION and Eyetech have made anything happen. They are the legacy NOT Ainc.

Those answers Fleecy gave were very politically correct and wordy with not much real world meaning... IMO of course.

A lot of questions from the Q&A was about OS4 and were answered by OS4 developers thru Fleecy and had a lot of real world meaning...

We've been through this before haven't we? A lot of the questions where actually answered by OS 4 dev people (those that concerned OS 4). All of them where genunine questions asked by readers of this web site.

You should start by pointing out obvious flaws, stupidities or real points of critique instead of this all-out general "they where crap" kind of thing. And don't tell me you wouldn't know where to start - if there is so much uselessness in Fleecy's questions, I would ask you to start naming a few.

Unless of course this general statements is all you can give.

This is good if something GOOD actually comes from it, the last time we heard from Garry we were told an announcement was on the way, that was ....... well, quite some time ago now.

I just hope this isn't another "We have some plans", would be nice to actually hear/see something concrete now.

Every post i've read in these years from you, was an half-truth or a disinformations ones. I don't understand why you keep slandering what you don't like for childish reason, and then attack other like MikeB saying they don't allow anything else than dancing banana. You see only what you want, people like you was the reason why i didn't buy a Peg1 times ago. Ask Fleecy was very usefull regarding OS4, and also i was happy to read A inc plans about DE e OS.

My questions:

1. Is there any plan to go public?

2. Is there any plan to fix Articia chipset bugs and provide full support for Linux Kernel 2.6?

3. Is there any plan to create Linux LiveCD for Amiga1 or Micro-A1?

4. Is there any plan to port Amizilla, OpenOffice and other important applications?

5. Is there any plan to release PowerPC G5/ 970 based product, cut the price to compete with other platforms?

6. Is there any plan to release fanless version of Micro-A1?
What about built-in DC-DC converter 12 V version for automotive / marine applications?

7. Is there any plan to release Amiga DE version for Linux PowerPC?

8. Is there any plan to release MP3 products based on SSEYO / Tao group software?

9. Is there any plan to port other OS to Micro A1? (BSD, QNX, hardened linux kernel etc)

10. Is there any special division of Amiga Inc for embedded applications and projects?

2- Via bugs, not articia bugs. probably you have spent too much in troll's forums

4- OO is being ported to OS4.

6- MicroA1-i is fanless (?). You can remove the fan on the G3 but you need a good and big passive cooler imho. Anyway is your choice, do it by yourself or ask Eyetech not KMOS.
