Question:

Are there going to be any fixes for SE boards? If so can you tell us the details instead of a simple yes?

Question:

As you might have noticed a lot of people don't agree with having to pay for the fixes. What was the reason for doing that? Honest answer please.

Question:

Are you planning on sharing more info with us users in the future? Not being so quiet all the time.

I think the questions I like to see are about fixes for the SE boards and why they handled the "Operation fix" so badly. If Alan just tells us, look we don't have the money to pay for all the fixes ourselves. Not avoiding it and come up with warranty stuff, no just say it: we don't have the money or the resources for it.

Oh and I don't wanna see any questions about selling AmigaOne's in China. Yes it is a big country, and yes if if they all buy one we can make a lot of money, etc. Just take care of your probs at home and then you can go of to China and play ping pong or whatever you like.

Coder
p.s. I think Outcast and me should select the questions, funk that!

How come I find that hard to believe? I bet if the question gets selected he will say, oh we got it and we will respond on it in a short time frame. You know, the standard reply.

1) If a good buissnes opportunety regarding (selling) non Mai hardware presented itself, would you act on it? Or are you tied in (directly or indirectly) your current buissnes deal with Mai in such a way that you can only deal/sell their hardware?

2) It's thought by some that what the Amiga sceene needs is cheap hardware, including OS4, in the price range of ¤300-$400 even if this means cutting back on features substancially. Your thoughts?

3) Hardware standards move on and finding spare parts for motherboards that use the old ones get increasingly tougher and more expensive. What can a small company like Eyetech do to keep up with the speed of development?

4) There have been some wishfull thinking regarding a future high end product based around the Freescale MPC8641 (or MPC8641D) and the Uli M1573 southbridge. If [big if, I know] you (Eyetech) could get ahold of the neccesary parts and documentation for a reasonable price. Would you then consider adding a motherboard based around theese two chips into your product matrix, or wouldn't such a board fit into your idea of where you want to push your products?

You obviously haven't experienced UK postal services, and I should have done it recorded or registered but was in a rush.

I think most people like to hear about that. The fixes. And I hope he will give a nice long reply. Not something like "we will look into it", "we will do better in the future", "we will not make that mistake again", "later this month we will have more info that", etc.

Ah ic. You did send the letter about the boards and not the one in which you express your secret feelings for Alan, right?

@Coder

Im not that daft, I sent that one in time for valentines day.

I just didn't do it the way I expected to and the lack of response has given me a bit of a nagging feeling that maybe I should send it recorded to be sure. But then if I do that I might piss Eyetech off even more by sending them two letters.

Then of course I get into some work and forget all about it for a week or so.

20 Rounds - With Alan Redhouse of Eyetech!

Now that would be something cool. Or we do a tag-team. Alan - Garry and Mikey_C - DaveyD.

Only 20 questions ? Pah!

1- Area there still plans for an upadted version of the A1, AKA the XC, and have things moved on so that we're close to a release date?

2- Is there a PPC settop box planned based on AmigaOS4 ?

3- Any cool news you have for us?

It is ok if they get 2. If they reall have one already they did not reply so a second one is in order.

What (if anything) are you doing about the problems running Linux to its full potential on the AmigaOne boards?

Are you going to do anything about that horrendous website of yours? (i.e. re-jig it to make it clear you aren't a retailer anymore, add an AmigaOne dealer search, etc.)

Who would win in a straight fight: Silverback Gorilla or Grizzly Bear?

This a good question. Eyetech could probably sell a few more mobos if they had a more professional looking and informative website.

Maybe Eyetech could hire Ayalo and let him do some of his magic...
