Another fun project is taking the ide header and
getting a CF adapter to boot from a 1G CF card.
But that is another story entirely.

I had also the same or similar problems installing my µA1.
As there was NO documentation delivered with the board.
I had to turn to AW.net and the great Amiga community

The AmigaIRC Micro page was also good help.
Wonder why these kind of pictures aren't on Eyetech's site?

A week after I bought my µA1 I got hold of a µA1 manual (pdf)
which explains alot of the jumpers and pins including the CPU
board. I'm wondering if it's possible to get the 750GX up to
1GHz with the right cooling?!?

Nice write up Lyle.

Also wanted to say your right about the documentation on the serial port being
wrong. I mentioned this in a thread
(http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=9665&forum=14)
back in January and told some of the folks that are making wiring diagrams
available but wasn't listened to because the documentation said otherwise.

Hopefully your article will make the problem more visable.

Great article - it's pretty scary that there is so much scope for error, and so many trivial things (which you take for granted with a PC motherboard) missing. Not good at all.

Someone definitely needs to get that µA1 Owners Kit put together...

@Trixie: That's what dealers are for! Building your own is not for everyone. There seems to be a lot of people that are building for the first time though.

Still strange, as Explorer tends to be more slack with syntax, and tend to display as it wants, rather than what the code wants. Not closing tags and such in IE, usually still displays it ok, yet FireFox doesn't usually, as it seems more strict on the syntax.

You also need to change your vcore if you overclock the cpu.

I run my XE at 1000Mhz with a nice cooler. The cpu is a 933 one.

I already fixed it before I saw your post, but thanks for pointing it out. I don't know where those fixed numbers came in, as I try to use 100% and such. It's much easier. The only fixed numbers I use should be on the outside of the framed area to keep the site aligned and centered.

I guess it's obvious which browser I used to preview it with.
