Internet News   Internet News : IntuitionBase.com update - Introducing new features.
   posted by Ryu on 28-Mar-2005 15:36:31 (5420 reads)
Quite a few things are new, and a few things have been tidied up:

*Cleaned up the images in our customisations section.
*Fixed the link in the features section to point to the Features PDF on our server.
*Added a new section titled "Multimeda", provides links to all the files we host.
*Italian translation of the "Case for PPC" article uploaded to the articles section.
*Last but not least Jonathan Haddock (GiGa) has created an unofficial µA1-C Handbook for all you µA1 owners out there to use.

As we approach our 1 year anniversary I would just like to take a moment to thank everyone who visits and who sends in data for inclusion.

@Ryu

Thanks for re-checking the serial port info.

And thanks for the great website! I contacted my "old" Amiga dealer
last week, he has been out of the business for eleven years. He was
excited about the new Amigas, so I sent him first to your site, since
you have the most complete collection of AOne/OS4 information.

Of course the second place I showed him was AmigaWorld.

Keep up the great work, and we will celebrate again next year!

@number6

The post I was responding to sounded very sarcastic (like you thought Lyle was an idiot) -- I'm not really sure what this last post means.

@Ryu

Thank you Darren,

Please attribute most of what has transpired to simple? miscommunication
between all of us. It is not anyone's fault, and better still, it is
something we can improve with a little effort from all.

I honestly admire what you have done.

@Klesterjr

Number6 and I have been communicating by PM. I thought he was being sarcastic, too. All is well now, and as far as I know I haven't offended anyone.

It takes a bit of practice to communicate clearly in a multinational group like this one, where many of the posters speak languages other than english. We all need to be careful to avoid offending others.

Yes, as grumpy as I can get sometimes, I really do care about not offending other members.

Oh, and how do you know that I'm not an Idiot?? But I know my Amigas.

Thanks to all for support on this.. All of this could have been avoided if MAI had put the correct information in the original document. We may be fighting this misinformation for years, I'm afraid.

Peace,
Lyle

@klesterjr

Please forgive the way my posts sometimes "sound". In the "old days" we used to
have discussions in person and by phone. We used to have the chance to meet one
another and get to know one another before beginning a project. We used to have
project directors to sift through data and follow with a unified statement. The
parent companies used to make official statements on subjects such as this one.

My personal fault here, Ken, is assuming that certain things were being done that
were NOT (emphasis,no shouting). I will do everything in my power to improve my
communication skills, now that I know how things are done now.
And.....your work is so good it makes me want to cry. Seriously.

@lylehaze

Okay -- I get it now (I think). Thanks for the clarification.

@Ken

Noticed the ( I think). If you accept my explanation but are asking in a round-about-way what my conclusion is:
I see things the same way as Lyle, Ktadd, etc.
There is NO problem here. We are only talking about a cable, OK?
I sense that there may be a company policy decision made regarding how to proceed
on this matter, but I do not speak for the company. I do not work for the company.
The "missing parts bag" that Lyle has written about is vital.
In addition, some people may not be clear on this:
PC neither has a common name OR size issued to all of their dealerships regarding the
item referred to as "jackscrew" or "nutconnector".
I noticed this missing part immediately, and went to a PC dealer where I received this
"standard" part. While no serious harm occured, the part was clearly NOT the same size
as the "holes" in the case. I unscrewed the same parts from my RetinaZ3, and they WERE
the correct part. So please, dealers, if ordering in quantity:check for accuracy first.
In short, Ken, I have reached the same conclusions that the others have made in this thread.
If I still have not answered you fully, never be afraid to ask me directly. You may even be
surprised to learn that I have a sense of humour. It is my sense of personal responsibility
that has not allowed that to show through my posts.

No need to apologise. You've done a great service to the A1 comunity by producing this document and with the update it's even better. I for one appreciate your efforts.
